CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND
It should be understood that an agreement should be made in good faith to those who
do so. Oral or written agreements or written agreements remain binding on the parties and
do not omitted, the rights and obligations of the contracting parties.
The agreement creates an engagement, in which the other party has the right to
demand something from the other, and the other party is obliged to fulfill the demand. In
an agreement which in this case clearly creates rights and obligations, it is necessary to
have legislation governing the agreement and be able to protect both parties who do so.

2.1 THE DEFINITION OF APPOINTMENT


Appointment is a kind of expression which is used to conduct an appointment.
Appointment is also a kind of expression which is used to make an arrangement to meet a
person or be at place at a certain time. Making an appointment can take a while if both you
and the other person are busy and have a packed schedule.

2.2 REQUIREMENTS OF APPOINTMENTS


A legitimate agreement means an eligible agreement, the legal terms of the agreement
are as follows:

1) There is agreement of will between the parties that make the agreement (consensus)

Their bonding deal comes freely or with freedom. Freedom of consent may occur

2) There is the ability of the parties to make the agreement (capacity)

A person is said to be proficient when the law is at least 21 years of age, or if not yet
21 years old but has been married.

concerning the object. In making the agreement between the legal subjects concerned

2) What if we go .? (examples: cycling on car free day next Sunday, swimming
this afternoon)
3) Will you go out with me .? (example: tonight)
4) Ill go to . (example: your house at 3 p.m.). Its all right?
5) Id like to make an appointment with . (examples: you, him, her)
6) I want to make an appointment to see . (examples: my dentist, my private
teacher)
7) Id like you to come and see me.
8) Can we meet at . (examples: Kitchen Restaurant, Aquarius Hotel)
9) Can I come and see you?
10) What about . (example: tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.)

2. Accepting an Appointment
1) Okay. Ill be there on time.
2) No problem. Im free . (examples: on Sunday, at that day, at that time)
3) Sure, I love it.

4) Good idea.
5) Definitely!
6) All right, see you there.
7) It is a deal.
8) Sure.
9) Why not?

2.4 EXPRESSIONS WE CAN USE TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT


Here are some expressions we can use to cancel an appointment.

a. Cancel an Appointment
1) Im sorry. I cant meet you today. I have to see my dentist. Can we reschedule?
2) Were terribly sorry we have to cancel our appointment. Mr. Tanakas flight is
delayed for two hours.
3) Im afraid I have to put off put appointment because I have an urgent business to
do.
4) Sorry. I cant meet you this weekend since I have another appointment.
5) Sorry, I cant meet you tomorrow. Im busy at that day.

b. Responding the cancellation


1. Thats O.K.
2. How disappointing!
3. Dont worry. We can meet next time.
4. Well, its alright.
5. Umm, its O.K.
6. Etc.

c. Changing an Appointment
1. What about... (Friday 4 p.m ?)
2. Is that OK. If we meet at 10 tomorrow morning?
3. Do you have another time this afternoon?
4. Could we change the day (time) of the meeting?
5. Would you mind if we change the day (time) of the meeting?
6. Some other time, maybe ?

8. Etc.

CONCLUSION

3.1 CONCLUSION

In general it can be concluded that the meaning of the agreement is a legal relationship
between two persons or two parties, based on which one party has the right to demand
something from the other, and the other party is obliged to fulfill the demand.

Agreements should be made in good faith to those who do so. In an agreement which
in this case clearly creates rights and obligations, a legislation establishing a treaty that the
contracting party should be understood in order to avoid possible violations of the agreement
and protect both parties.
