PARKER'S ENGRAVED FLASHLIGHT 1974
This black KEL-LITE Flashlight, measuring 19 3/4” in length was given to Colonel Tom Parker as a gift in 1974. The inscription near
the head of the flashlight reads as follows: "TO THE COLONEL WITH RESPECT FROM THE CHIEF JAN. 74”. Mr. Bonja acquired this
piece from the Colonel as one of his impromptu silent auctions which he held in his office at MGM Studios in Culver City ,
California . The Colonel would often receive gifts from various sources over his career and would hold an auction once or twice a
year to make room for future gifts.
The usual partsipants in the auction were Tom Diskin, George Parkhill, Jim O'Brien and Ed Bonja. Items included in these auctions
would range from television sets and radios to bathroom scales- and, of course, this flashlight. On this particular occasion, Mr.
Bonja put in his written bid of $.25 for this item, thinking that he would have no need for such a large flashlight. When all bids had
been turned in, the Colonel announced that this item would go to the lowest bidder, and Mr. Bonja's bid of $.25 was just that. It
has been in his possession since that auction in 1975 until I purchased this piece. It is displayed in Plexiglas with descriptive
plaque.

Very cool footage and completely new to my eyes! It was nice to just have photos of
Elvis wearing such odd piece of wardrobe (the turban) and now even footage
surfaces... boggles the mind to think what could still be hidden...
1. 2.
one of the children seen in the film (Dave
Hebler's i believe) was ill and Elvis
believed he had
healing powers and wore the
turban to convince the child he could make
her better, which he duly did.
This picture is listed late 1973... but looks the same coat Elvi
way)
on looking closer, part of the Fur that goes over the shoulder
front...
