Reena Sing was 25 years old and had been working for the past five years as an assistant at a small accounting firm in Delhi. Although she
liked her job, she didnt see any chance for advancement. Throughout these five years, she was doing same work without any change or
challenge. It seemed as if past five years had just flown by without much success. Reena had never really thought about her goals for the
future. Increasingly, however, she realized that she needed a direction.
Reena decided to go back to college and earn a degree in accounting. She started looking for the available options to get the degree. She
chose to attend the three year part time course as full time course was not allowing her to continue her job. Leaving a job for further
education was not possible for Reena being a solo bread winner of the family. As she sat in her first class, though, she began to question her
decision. Would she be able to balance her work and college responsibilities? What if she didnt finish and then had to repay student loans
on her current salary? Her heart began to beat faster, and her palms got sweaty. But Reena was firm on getting this degree and go ahead
in her career. She removed all the negative thoughts and started working on her plan. First she worked out a plan for next three years. It
was much essential for her to find out some extra time to study and she was ready for that. She decided to minimize some of her household
responsibilities and utilize that time for completing the assignments. She opted to work smartly so that she could get some more time for
her studies. Slowly she became familiar with this routine and results started coming out. Soon she got the degree she wished and worked
hard for and to her surprise; she got promotion in the same firm.
