My name is John Rayner, Managing Director of MEC Medical Limited. Originally

founded in 1975 (formerly McCrea Engineering), MEC Medical Ltd has been an

Hose to MEC Medical. MEC will inspect the
condition and tolerances of your existing
connectors. Re-work with a new BS. EN ISO
5359 (2008) Gas Hose + a new traceable
I.D shrink Sleeve and O ring for NIST
Probe + Test.
(Out of tolerance Probes or NISTS can be
replaced at time of rebuild MEC will
contact you to advise of any defects
before commencing work)

MEC Terminal Units can be either surface, boom, flush or trunking mounted. Features integral to the units include non-interchangeability

Suction Controllers / Units
High vacuum is suitable for use in operating theatres, intensive care units, trauma and casualty units, wards and any application where high
vacuum is required. The suction controller enables the vacuum to be set at any level from 0 to full pipeline vacuum. The vacuum gauge is
marked from 0 to -100 kPa and 0 to -750 mmHg.
Low vacuum is suitable for paediatric applications or where a vacuum not exceeding -20kPa (-150 mmHg) is required. The vacuum gauge is
marked 0 to -27 kPa and 0 to -203 mmHg. NB: The suction control knob is yellow.
Thoracic suction is suitable for abdominal or pleural drainage or where a vacuum not exceeding -7kPa (-53 mmHg) is required. The vacuum
gauge is marked 0 to -10 kPa and 0 to -75 mmHg. NB: The suction control knob is blue.
Controllers are supplied with BS probes. Alternative probe types are available, including DIN and ULA probes. Units with remote probes are
supplied with 2 metres of vacuum hose. Vacuum controllers are supplied with a gauge (marked in kPa and mmHg), disposable hydrophobic
filter that acts as a safety overflow valve, an On/Off switch and vacuum adjustment knob.

Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging Systems
The AGSS is designed to conform to ISO 8835-3 and is used for the extraction of waste and excess gases, from the patient breathing
system into the central anaesthetic gas scavenging disposal system. This is a device that safely collects and removes exhaled nitrous
oxide and other anaesthetic gases during the administration of anaesthesia or sedation. The device is recommended by: AAGBI to avoid
occupational exposure to the gases.

MEC Medical Ltd Test Equipment allows you to regularly check that medical gas pipelines are operating correctly to HTM02-01 guidelines.
A comprehensive range of sets are available to test and calibrate medical gas pressure, flow and vacuum, ensure terminal units are gas
specific and that active anaesthetic gas scavenging systems are adjusted to provide optimal performance. Particulate matter testing with
purging allows checking for particulate contamination within the pipeline as well as purging from terminal unit or NIST points. Included in
the range are dew point meters to identify contamination of pipeline systems by moisture.
