THE INFFLUENCE OF USING ATTRIBUTE WEB STRATEGY TOWARDS
STUDENTS NARRATIVE TEXT READING COMPREHENSION AT EIGHT GRADE
OF SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 1 KALIREJO ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017

Reading is certainly an important activity for expanding knowledge of a language thought
reading someone enables to expanding knowledge and enjoyable. In reading, students must be
able to comprehend meaning of the world in the text. By reading someone knows everything
around the world even though she/he does not to get the place directly. Therefore, reading can
help people easier to have relation with other people, to get information, knowledge and to know
the culture in different place. Based on the preliminary research the writer founds the cause of
the students problem do not interest to read the text. So, students has difficultly to get the
information from the text and understand meaning from the text. The object of the research is To
know the influence of attribute web strategy towards students reading comprehension at the
SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kalirejo in academic years 2016/2017.
Furthermore, the subject of this research was the second semester of the eight grade students of
SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kalirejo in academic years 2016/2017. The writer took two classes as
sample: class B as the control class and class A as the experimental. In this research, the writer
use quasi experimental. The writer took the sample by using random sampling because the
student were taken from classes.
Based on the data analysis, that there is a significant influence of attribute web strategy students
narrative text reading comprehension of the eigh grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kalirejo in
academic years 2016/2017. It is proved by the result of T-test formula. It is showed that t-
observed > t-critical. Base on the result above. t-observed was higher than t-critical value. It
proofed that attribute web strategy in one of good strategy to improve the students achievement,
especially in reading narrative text.
