THE CORRELATION BETWEEN PERSONAL HYGIENE


BEHAVIOR AND FLUOR ALBUS (LEUCORRHEA) PREVALENCE AT
FEMALE STUDENTS OF STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 5 OF
BANDAR LAMPUNG

Fluor albus, or white discharge are the most common symptom in gynecologic
patients, the presence of these symptoms are known to the patient because
of soiling his pants. Fluor albus can distinguish between physiological and
pathological fluor albus. Thisstudy focused on fluor albus pathological.
Pathological fluor albus caused by infections, neoplasms, and poor
personal hygiene is. Personal hygiene is one factor that has animportan
trole toavoid the occurrence of infections that can lead tocomplaints
of fluor albus.

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between knowledge,


attitudes, and personal hygiene, measured by the complaints of high school
student in SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. This research is analytical descriptive
with cross-sectional approach that uses primary data from the questionnaire form
and using simple random sampling technique. The research wasconducted at
the SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung in November-December. The samples consist of
227female students from total population 524 students.

The results showed that student knowledge about personal hygiene to fluor albus
complaintsin the less category as many as 99 students (43.6%). Student
attitudes about personal hygiene to fluor albus complaints in the good
category as many as 121 students (53.3%). Personal action against
the hygiene complaints to fluor albus in the less category as many
as 143 students (63%), and female students who have complaints fluor albus as
many as 131 (57.7%). Analysis Results by using chi square tests on the
relationship between knowledge of personal hygiene withf
luor albus complaint obtained p-value = 0.522 (p> ), the relationship between
attitudes personal hygiene with fluor albus complaints obtained p-value
= 0.600(p>), and the relationship between action to personal
hygiene with complaints off luor albus obtained p-value = 0.000 (p<). This
study used a significance level () 0.05 thus, the results showed: 1. There was
no significant association between knowledge of personal hygiene with fluor
albus complaints. 2. There was no significant association between personal
hygiene attitudes with fluor albus complaints. 3. There is a significant
association between knowledge of personal hygiene with fluor albus complaints.
Advice for students expected topay more attention to personal hygiene,
especially of the reproductive organs toreduce the complaints
of fluor albus. For further research, toconduct research with a larger number of
samples.
