Thesis Supervision
Have been supervising (including co-supervision) various research projects of the students of B.
Pharm. (Hons) and M. Pharm. degrees at Khulna University, Bangladesh.

Postdoctoral research (October 2010~September 2012)-

Carried out postdoctoral research at the Department of Cell Biology, Research Institute for Microbial
Disease (RIMD), Osaka University, Japan under the supervision of Professor EisukeMekada. I have
studied the following topics:
o miRNA mediated regulation of human heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (hHB-EGF) in
ovarian cancer

During Doctoral research-

Carried out doctoral research at the Department of Human Pathology and at the Institute for Genome
Research, under the University ofTokushima, Japan under the supervision of Professor Toshiaki Sano
and Professor YousukeTakahama. I have studied the following topics:
o Pathophysiological role of high mobility group protein (HMGA) and DNA methyl transferase
(DNMT) in human neuroendocrine tumors especially in gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine
tumor (GEP-NETs) and pituitary adenoma
o The DNMT protein expression in GEP NETs and its clinical significance. Our findings
suggested that DNMT1, 3a and 3b are overexpressed in GEP-NETs which is related to
tumorigenesis and the progression of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors that may be
novel therapeutic targets in GEP NETs
o Thymic involution produced by diesel exhaust particles and their constituents in mice:
o The effect of diesel exhaust particles (DEP) in immune system was studied in mouse model after
intraperitoneal (IP) administration

During Masters course study-

Carried out a research project in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of Master of
Pharmacy, University of Dhaka and submitted a dissertation entitled `binding of ibuprofen and
naproxen to bovine serum albumin: a modified form of drug-drug displacement in their binding
site.
