Position: Web and Apps Project Manager (6 months contract)


Location: Stanmore, UK.
Salary: Competitive, dependent upon experience
Accountable to: Operations Manager and Office Bearers

Hours: 35 hours - In addition, the post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible working
policy to work alongside Office Bearers and Heads of Departments if need be.

Purpose of the role:


An exciting opportunity for a Web and Apps Project Manager is now available at The World
Federation. This is a 6 months fixed term contract based at our Stanmore office.

You will manage a project that will oversee the rebuild and redesign of the World
Federations web presence. Our web site has > 10,000 unique page views every month
which we want to increase significantly so that we can reach out to our whole worldwide
community via a revamped web site and new mobile app.

The Project Manager will be responsible for working with key internal and external
stakeholders to determine our needs, and then proceed with vendor selection,
implementation and deployment. This is a significant project that will involve managing and
planning significant resource allocation including people, budgets and assets across divisions
and external agencies.

Position Requirements:
Educated to degree level.
Proven experience in managing IT projects and the software development life cycle.
Excellent knowledge of web technologies (such as HTML/CSS, MySQL, PHP, Java and
Python), web and app design and deployment.
Experience of developing user requirements, technical specifications, documentation
and reporting.
Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation and server-side applications frameworks.
Able to work with diverse groups of staff, volunteers and clients.
Ability to bridge the gap between technical and business requirements and language.
Strong written and oral communications skills in English language.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and co-ordinate the charitys Website and Apps strategy.
Produce all necessary document including RFP for website and app deployment.
Work independently on agreed targets, ensuring that deadlines are met.
Make decisions within the assigned areas of responsibility; the job holder will have a
significant role in determining the future strategy for our website services.
Assisting in the gathering of business needs from key stakeholders across the business
and supporting communication with those stakeholders.
Active management of external suppliers/consultants to successfully deliver the project
requirements in accordance with the contract and within budget.
Project budget management and monitoring project progress; tracking action items;
conducting reviews; examining, researching, and resolving issues; escalating issues to
appropriate authority; responding to team members' concerns; coordinating
requirements with interested departments
Methodical and organised approach to planning, implementation and record keeping for
all activities with a high level of attention to detail.
Ensure that work is delivered according to defined processes, standards, and quality
leveraging expertise from the other members of the team.
