Security By Book
NATCO Process: Business Area: Date:
Fixed Assets Finance 15-Jun-09
Control Number: Priority(H, M, L): Process Owner:
Low Fixed Assets Department
Description: Security by book enables users to secure data access by asset book and responsibility. It implements the organizational hierarchy concept
in Oracle HR. There are 7 steps to setting up security by book:
1. Define business groups
2. Set up organizations.
3. Create the hierarchy.
4. Define security profiles.
5. Create responsibilities.
6. Attach security profiles.
7. Assign responsibilities to users.

Before starting the following steps, ensure the HR: Security Profile profile option is set correctly for your responsibilities, i.e., all Canada responsibilities
should be pointed to the Canada Business Group and all US responsibilities should be pointed to the US Business Group.
