As a substitute teacher, I followed lesson plans in order to teach and manage high school students within the class
setting. I have substitute experience in Science, English, Math, History, Physical Education and Special Education.

Student Teacher | Long Beach Unified School District August 2016-January 2017
Under the supervision of mentor teachers, I taught one period of life science and two periods of physical science.
My experience includes planning inquiry-based, engaging lessons, attending meetings, keeping track of student
grades and managing the classroom as I aim to teach all students to the best of my ability.

Teaching Associate | CSULB Young Scientist Camp July 2016-August 2016


Over the course of three weeks, I planned and taught hands-on lessons while engaging and supervising a class of
thirty students between grades 6-8. My experience includes collaborating with various teaching associates and
lead teachers in order to unit plan for the science summer camp at CSULB.

During this experience, I mentored an at-risk middle school student on a weekly basis. In particular, I provided
additional support with History and Math homework while also encouraging positive behaviors and study habits.

While working in a fast-paced environment, I learned how to effectively multitask by balancing ten tables of
customers at once and ensuring that everyone has a positive experience.

Education

Single Subject Credential | California State University, Long Beach August 2015-January 2017
As a post baccalaureate student, I was taking a variety of education classes in order to prepare for my preliminary
Single Subject Credential in Biology. During this program, I learned about pedagogy practices and observed
approximately two hundred hours of classes from three different school districts. My overall GPA is a 4.0.

B.S. Biology, option in Education | California State University, Long Beach August 2010-May 2015
During my undergraduate career, I took a variety of general education and science classes along with the
prerequisites for my post baccalaureate program. Through my Biology coursework, I was deemed competent in
the subject area and was waived from taking the CSET.
