2017-2018 Dear Brother and Sister Elks,

October is behind us and what an eventful one it was! We started the month with our variety show

success. Thank you ALL! Tina Caron provided the delicious monthly dinner of shepherds pie, fantastic

Knight as always! We do need more volunteers for the monthly dinner, keep in mind that you are reimbursed
for the cost of the meal. If you love to cook, this is right up your alley. We ended the month with our

Williams annual Halloween party. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the potluck dinner.

Our monthly dinner will be on Friday, November 3rd. Anne Mackenzie will be serving lobster
Vacant rolls, chips and dessert for $8.00. We will be honoring our Veterans with a brunch at 11:00am,
Lecturing Saturday November 11th. We will be setting up the Veterans box at the lodge and presenting on this

day. We are looking for donations of household or personal items to fill the box. Please make sure the
Lysanne items are new. Examples of items needed, towels, dishes, cookware, personal hygiene items, sheets etc.
Doucette Let's all do what we can to support our veterans! We will also be in need of volunteers for the brunch,
Secretary let me know if you are interested in helping. November 13th is our Member's Meeting at 6:30. Keep

us for a Christmas Paint Class fund-raiser. The last one we had was very successful and we raised
Claire Davis over $500.00 for Maine Children's Cancer! Join us at 2:00pm for the fun! Tickets are $35.00. November

If anyone has a commercial coffee pot for 30-40 cups and you would like to donate to the kitchen,
we could sure use it! The bingo crew is also in desperate need of another floor person. Please contact

Inner Guard baked goods to the kitchen for Bingo, I know our kitchen staff would greatly appreciate it. Please

Come by for some fun, great food and big winnings! Be sure to stop by the kitchen
where our very own An n e M ack en zie and Pau lin e Tu r cot t e are serving up their
homemade tasty treats of the day or if you would like to donate your own baked goods,
I know both of them would greatly appreciate it!

Maine Event Comedy returns to the Elks!!! November 18th, doors open at 7:00 and the
show starts at 8:00! There is a great line up in store to keep you laughing all night and
yours truly may be performing as well! Be sure to get your tickets in advance at
www.maineeventcomedy.com for only $10.00! You don't want to miss this show!!

As one of the area's larger function facilities, the Lewiston Elks Lodge offers an
affordable alternative for your wedding, banquets, business seminar, conference,
reunion, private party, fundraiser, or other gathering. Our non-smoking Function Hall
can comfortably accommodate up to 280 guests depending on the configuration of
tables and chairs.

Turnpike)
