Superhead Installation Instructions

YOU WILL NEED

-Approx 2.4m of 90mm pipe
(PVC or metal)
- Downpipe brackets
- PVC Pipe cement
- Male/female 90 elbow*
- 45 elbows*
- Fixings to wall or tank*

1. First decide which method you will use to install the system. If you are installing it directly on the side
of a tank then use the REAR outlet method. If you want to install it on a wall and have the tank nearby
then use the SIDE outlet method.

2. Select an area to locate the system close to a downpipe where the water will come from. The
drainage cap will also drip for several days after rain so you may want to locate it over a garden or
drain.

3. If you are using the SIDE OUTLET method, attach the brackets (E) to the rear of the Superhead (A)
using the nuts and bolts provided.

4. Position the Superhead so that the downpipe is approx. 40mm above the front of the Superhead
screen. Also check the unit is above the maximum water level of the tank. Mark the correct position of
the holes on the unit. .

5. If you are using the REAR OUTLET method: Locate the Superhead at the tank inlet. If there is no
inlet you will need to cut a hole or use the SIDE OUTLET method 2. Check the tank manufacturers'
instructions before making holes in the tank. Also beware of debris entering the tank when
cutting holes.

6. Drill the holes for the brackets and secure the Superhead (or brackets) to the wall or tank using
suitable fixings. (Masonry anchors for brickwork, tek screws or rivets for steel)

7. Measure the distance from the bottom of the Superhead to the ground. You will need a length of
90mm pipe (B) this length to use as the storage for the first flush. The length of pipe you use will
determine how much water is flushed. If using the SIDE OUTLET method 2, you can add 2 x 45
elbows to get the storage pipe closer to the wall.

6. Fix the bottom drainage cap (D) to the storage pipe using pipe cement and rivets or screws. Adjust
the plug to drain at approximately 1-2 drips per second.

7. Fit the storage pipe to the Superhead, making sure the storage pipe is vertical and correct length. If it
is correct then connect the storage pipe to the Superhead with PVC pipe cement.

9. If using the SIDE OUTLET Method: Connect the your water tank to the rear of the Superhead using
the male/ female elbow.

10. Secure all pipes using suitable pipe brackets.

11. Paint if required, taking care not to interfere with the rotating flap.

12. Adjust the bottom plug to drip at 1 2 drips per second. In dry weather you should loosen the plug to
increase the drip rate and flush volume. During wet weather it can be tightened as less flushing is
needed.

Maintenance: The system requires very little maintenance however leaves and roof debris can build up in the storage pipe. Occasionally unscrew
the drainage cap completely and flush with water to clear any dirt collected in the first flush system.
