What is Insulin Access Program?

The Department of Health (DOH) established the Insulin Medicines

Access Program (InMAP), which was developed through a Private-
Public Partnership (PPP) wherein the innovator company voluntarily
offered their products at a much reduced affordable price to the DOH
hospitals.

The access program for insulin was being implemented through a

consignment system in 27 DOH hospitals where only a limited number
of patients, have benefited from the program. In order to expand and
reach out to the poorest sector, the DOH will now be providing insulin
for all indigent diabetic patients at no cost to them. Free insulin
access will be implemented in DOH Hospitals nationwide and City
Health Offices
