15)Passage 4 elements? What is difference between execution and

16) Methods of taking star sight? Which is the best method?
17) Enumerate star calculation? How will you ascertain which stars are
best for sight?
To make a list of stars and planets available for observation at morning
or evening twilight for a fix, you would setup the starfinder with the
LHA (Aries) and have the planets plotted. Then use the following guide
lines for selection of bodies:
1. Altitude 10 to 65
2. 1st magnitude
3. Bearing 120 apart
4. Always try to get Polaris, it gives you a latitude line of position if
you are in the northern hemisphere, and any body who has a bearing of
000 - 180 will do the same thing.
5. To check your course, select bodies with bearings perpendicular to
your course.
6. To check your speed, select bodies that are parallel to your course.
In working these Coast Guard exam problems, some groups can be eliminated
if one of the bodies in the group is below the horizon for that
observer's DR position and time of star time.

18) What are different twilights and which twilight will you consider
best for the stars selected?why?
Further he asked me couple of more ROR situations , which were mostly
based on RV.
19) Limitations of ECDIS? Why ther is training rquired for ECDIS?
20) TRS? Dangerous semicircle? Dangerous Quadrant? Action in NH?
21) What is veering and backing of wind?

1.How to take star sight?how to use star finder?

Consisting of a Star Chart (Northern and Southern Hemispheres) and eight
transparent templates. (Latitudes 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75 degrees).
The Star Chart shows the 57 stars tabulated in the Nautical Almanac. To
use you first find the LHA of Aries, select the plate nearest your
Latitude, align an arrow on the template with the LHA of Aries. From the
template you can then read off the approximate altitude and azimuth of
any selected star, or identify a star for which the altitude or azimuth
is known.
