Course Title: IT 223 Discrete Mathematics

Course Description:
Discrete Mathematics is the branch of mathematics that deals with the arrangements of distinct objects. It includes a wide variety of topics and techniques
that arise in everyday life, such as how to find the best route from one city to another, where the objects are cities arranged on a map. Discrete Mathematics is the
mathematics used by decision-makers in our society, from workers in government to those in health care, transportation and telecommunications. Its various
applications help students see the relevance of mathematics in the real world.

Course Credits: 3 units (3 hours lecture)

Core values
Excellence and Quality
Truth and Wisdom
Respect for the Uniqueness of Others
Family Spirit and Sense of Caring
Social Responsibility

Course Goal
At the end of the course, the students should be able to develop their mathematical maturity. Any mathematic related subjects tend to increase the
capacity of the students in analyzing problems. One of the key reasons for the growth in the importance of Discrete Mathematics is that information is stored and
manipulated by computing machines in a discrete fashion. . As Computer Science students, creating computer systems needs a very detailed process in which
knowledge in discrete mathematics may help develop such knowledge.

Terminal Performance Objectives

At the end of the course, with the undying support of the parents, sacrifices of the teachers, willingness of the students, availability of materials, overcoming
ignorance, fear and doubt, students will be able to:
