Terms and conditions for the STDF-IFE

co-financed postdoctoral fellowships

By accepting the terms below, I acknowledge that I have read, understood and accepted to
comply with all the terms of the foregoing application, IFEs and STDF's governing ethical
conduct, IPR and the mentioned rules and regulations mentioned in STDF general conditions
and guidelines for submitting an STDF research proposal, including, but not limited to:

1. The application
1.1. Applicants must be PhD/MD holders.
1.2. All the application file must be uploaded to the STDF website (www.stdf.org.eg) by the
designated deadline. Applications submitted by e-mail, sent as hard copies, or uploaded to the
STDF website after the deadline are not considered.
1.3. All uploaded documents should conform to the corresponding data filled in the online
application form. Applicants must promptly notify the STDF and/or the IFE with any changes
to given information, including any changes to the bank account in France or contact details.
Personal information should always be up to date such as the email and mobile phone
number.
1.4. The application file has to include all the request documents mentioned in the call and
uploaded in ONE PDF file.
1.5. Candidates should only be participating in a maximum of two STDF projects as PI. A
maximum of two proposals can be submitted until notified with the evaluation results. A
revised version of the previously submitted proposal can be re-submitted only once and after
applying STDF suggested modifications. At the time of submitting the revised proposal, the
PI is required to declare that an older version of the project proposal has been previously
submitted to STDF.
1.6. The same project should not be submitted to more than one fellowship. (Duplicate
submission of the same proposal is not allowed).
1.7. Conflict of interest should be avoided in any proposal application.
1.8. STDF guidelines, IPR rules, code of ethics, etc. (www.stdf.org.eg), should be read
carefully and adhered to. These are integral parts of STDF contracts.

2. The fellowship
2.1. The amount of the fellowship in euros is fixed and unchangeable.
2.2. The duration of the fellowship is based on what is requested in the application. It cannot
change once the files are submitted for evaluation. No extensions are allowed.
2.3. STDF and IFE technical decisions made by remote reviewers or panels of experts are
final.
2.4. Results are sent by email and the selected candidates have one week for accepting the
fellowship or else the fellowship offer will lapse. These candidates have to complete the
contracting process with the STDF within a maximum of one month.
2.5. The fellowship money is wired to the candidates bank account in France in monthly
instalments
2.6. The candidate must notify the STDF and IFE if they receive any other funding for a travel
to France at any time during the fellowship.
2.7. Candidates must inform the STDF and IFE immediately if anything threatens to cancel or
delay the travel.
2.8. Candidates must provide the STDF and IFE with a full report of the stay in France within
a month of their return.

3. Information, marketing and publicity

3.1. Candidates must acknowledge the support of the Science and Technology Development
Fund (STDF) and the French Embassy in Egypt French Institute of Egypt (IFE) in any
published documents linked to the fellowship, including any publications, patents,
advertisements, and in written or spoken presentations about the research project.
3.2. Candidates can use the logos of the STDF and of the IFE under the condition of obtaining
their permission and respecting the logo guideline.

4. Breach of these terms and conditions

The fellowship contract will end immediately and future payments will stop if the candidate:
4.1. Fails to meet any of these terms and conditions, he/she is required to pay back all or part
of the fellowship.
4.2. Supplied the STDF and/or the IFE with false or misleading information.

5. Termination of the Fellowship Agreement

5.1 These terms and conditions and the fellowship contract remain in force for the whole
duration of the fellowship as long as they are respected and there is no breach of contract
