Voelker talks about everything an adolescent can and at one point will go through. The
article is based on a longitudinal study in which both boys and girls described how they felt
with their body and how that compared with the other groups both controlled and
experimental. It goes through all the reseaches finding and talks in depth about how certain
aspects of the child's environment can greatly impact the way that child views his or her
body. The paper attempts to solve some of the questions our society may have, on child and
how they perceive their bodies, as well as how external influence may have an effect on
those perceptions.
