Request towards waiver of entry fee will not be entertained.

Limited entries will be accepted .entries confirmed only on full payment and receipt
of form by email/post/courier .No refund under any circumstances.Organisers
reserve right to close entries even before due date .

Entries are to be sent along with Demand Draft and completed forms in favour of
Salcete Taluka Chess Association payable at Margao along with necessary
enclosures to Mr. Ashesh Keni,1st flr ,Pelican bldg,Opp. Lohia Maidan Margao
,Goa so as to reach the office on or before the specified dates.

REGISTRATION :

AICF Registration fee for 2017-18 is compulsory for all Indian participants. This
fee [ Rs. 250/- ] will be accepted at the venue for convenience of players subject to
AICF rules in force. The players already registered with AICF need to send proof of the
same along with the entry.

Participants from Goa will also have to register themselves with Goa Chess Association
for the year 2017-18 at the time of entry on payment of Rs. 200/-or Rs.50/ per
tournament.

WEATHER: The weather in Goa is expected to be cool. The minimum / maximum
temperature will be around 30 36 Degree Celsius.
TOURNAMENT RULES :
1.SYSTEM OF PLAY :- The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of chess &
FIDE Swiss System with 9 Rounds. Time control will be 60 minute + 30 Sec. increment
per move from move1.
2. Tie Break :- In case of tie, the latest FIDE Rules shall come in to effect. Bucholz Tie Break
System will be applied. The cash prizes will not be shared.A player is eligible for only
one prize.
3. Appeals Committee of 5 members with 2 reserves amongst the senior participants officials
present at players meeting will be formed before the commencement of tournament. All
the members and reserves will be from different states. No member of the committee can
vote on dispute in which a player from the same state is involved and in such a case
reserve member shall take his place in the committee.
4. Protests :- Protests, if any against the decision of the Chief Arbiter, shall be made in writing
with a protest fee of Rs. 500/- within 30 minutes of the occurrence of the incident. The
amount will be refunded if the appeal is upheld.
5. The decision of the Chief Arbiter / Appeals Committee will be final and binding on all the
players.
6. Denial of Entry : STCA/MCC reserves the right to admit / refuse any entry without
assigning any reason.
7. The organizers of the tournament reserve the right to make necessary changes in rules
pertaining to the tournament
8. Smoking /Drinking is strictly prohibited in the school premises or tournament venue.
9. Players are requested to get their own chess clocks.

RIGHTS OF ADMISSION:- Any players who played unauthorized tournament listed

by All India Chess Federation are not allowed to participate in this tournament.

TOURIST PLACE:- Goa is a tourist place with most places accessible by public
transport. The venue is situated 10 km away from Margao (Madgaon city) which is
very close to world famous beach of Colva.
Transport:
Goa Airport iis 45 kms away.
Margao(Madgaon) Railway Station is a major railway connected by Konkan Railway
as well as South Central Railway.Daily trains to Mumbai,Mangalore,Bangalore.
Margao is 45 kms from Goa Dabolim Airport and 45 kms from Panjim city.
Buses are available daily from Mumbai , Chennai ,Bangalore ,Pune,Hyderabad.
The venue is located on Margao-Kepem (Quepem road) at Gudi Paroda.
Public buses are available to venue (take bus to Kepem /Quepem at Margao Bus stand
and get down at Gudi Paroda-Damodar H.S.)and back from Margao throught the day.
Organiser are trying to provide additional own bus service from Margao to venue and
back but players may have to make their own arrangement if the same is not done.
Players and officials are cautioned against swimming in the sea as the same is
extremely dangerous.
