9. Setup Status: 10. Installation Finished

The installation is running. Click Finish to launch CABINdesigner.

The installation time depends on the computers hardware as well as on the

operating system. Some computers will need to be rebooted after the installation is
finished.

) The CABINdesigner is based on the Microsoft .NET framework technology. The

installation of the framework environment takes about 50% of the installation
time. If the .NET framework 2.0 is already installed on the target computer/s,
the installation process will work much faster.

2.3 First Starting CABINdesigner

When you run CABINdesigner for the first time, an initialization dialog will come up,
asking you to specify the program language as well as the user group type.

) You can also change the language as well as the user group later in the
program.

__________________________________________________________________
CABINdesigner Quicktour, May. 2007 DigiPara GmbH
6 1BInstallation & System Requirements _

Choose your settings and click on the OK button. You do not need to define
the data pool settings manually.

The data pool contains all relevant data that is necessary to run the program,
e.g. the system database, user interface files, manufacturer libraries, etc.
From the program aspect this means that the program files (executables,
libraries, etc.) are separated from the program data (user interface data,
system data, manufacturer data, etc.).

) Advanced users, e.g. LIFTdesigner component developers, who are already

familiar with the data pool subject, are free to manually define the data pool
settings. For all other users, we recommend that you use the default settings.

2.4 CABINdesigner Authorization

When CABINdesigner starts for the first time, the Licensing dialog will appear,
asking you for your license information.

3 CABINdesigner Basis Information

3.1 The Basic Structure of the Program

CABINdesigner has two main components:

Designer: This is the main part of the program. It includes the user interface that
enables you to edit the properties of your elevator cabin. To change dimension
values, just edit the corresponding property in the Properties docking window.
All changes are automatically implemented throughout the entire data model.
) In the standalone version of CABINdesigner, direct editing of components /
dimensions in the drawing and editing of the pre-defined sheets is not
available. All modifications are made via the CABIN components / Properties
docking windows. This makes the project development more efficient and
avoids the user from making mistakes.

Database: The specifications and geometrical data of cabin design components

are stored in the CABINdesigner database. DigiPara continually updates this
database with the latest components and data. In addition to this, users can also
enter their own components into the database (with the necessary DigiPara Suite
modules).

3.2 User Interface Configuration

After the program has been started for the first time you will see that the toolbars
are displayed on top of the main program window.

__________________________________________________________________

menu:

3.4.1 CABIN components docking window

The Cabin components docking window is being used to administer the cabin
design components. It displays the cabin components in hierarchical order, which
can be enabled or disabled by the user.
If one of the cabin components gets selected via the CABIN components dialog,
the corresponding properties automatically will be displayed in the Properties
docking window.
In the following example, this will be explained for the emergency door properties.

Click e.g. on the Emergency Door item for the left cabin wall in the CABIN
components docking window. If no emergency door is selected, please
activate the component by enabling the checkmark.

design configuration and to define the basic cabin parameters of the new cabin
project. Start a new project by clicking on File and selecting New Cabin from the
menu. This opens the CABINdesigner Template dialog, which provides a standard
set of cabin template files.
) All the values and pre-selected components in the cabin template files can be
changed later when you are editing the project so theres no need to worry
about making mistakes!
) The main purpose of the Cabin template dialog is to select a standard cabin
configuration as a basis for your project. When you are starting a project with a
new cabin configuration that you have never used before, use the CABIN
template dialog to define the cabin type and other basic cabin parameters. (The
standard version of CABINdesigner does not include standard specifications for
the products of specific companies.)
) The cabin components included in the project when the CABINdesign template
dialog closes are read automatically from the duty tables. This is where the
standards for the products of specific companies can be stored.

Set the Panel arrangement property to Manually for example, to enable the
Number of Panels property. This property provides the opportunity to define the
number of wall panels for the currently selected cabin wall manually.

You can also change the standard wall panel width by adjusting the Default Panel
Width property to the required value.

4.7 Changing the Mirror Settings

By default, this component is deactivated for the selected panoramic cabin design.
To take a look at the mirror properties, activate the component by switching the
Component state property to Active.

4.7.1 Mirror Area Size

The mirror size can be defined in two ways. The first option is to define the mirror
width / height (DX / DZ) indirectly, by changing the distance between the mirror
area and the left right, bottom and top wall edge. The second way is to define the
mirror width directly. To do so, you need to switch the Width Calculation property to
Calculate X1 and the Height Calculation property to Calculate Z1.

__________________________________________________________________

The location and size of the emergency door key hole can be changed via the
Emergency Door properties.

4.9.1 Emergency Door Integration

The integration of the emergency door gets defined via the Emergency Door
Options properties. These properties define whether the emergency door
component breaks the other wall components at the position where it is located or
not and if it is integrated into the car wall.
If the Emergency Door e.g. doesnt break the hand rails, it gets overlapped by this
component, see example below. This behavior is similar for all other cabin wall
components (mirrors, kick plates, bumper rails).
