CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION AND ITS BACKGROUND

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Though this widespread of technology, the computer has been improve where it
incorporates with the in demand nowadays are the tablets, touchpads, and mini pads. Most of
these tablets are powered Android OS system that is used to be able to execute the android
programs. In years there are several versions of operating system which are now used to
execute the tablets, smartphones and android phones.

Android is the most popular mobile platform in the world. Android development is becoming
an increasingly popular field. For developers who want to target a huge, diverse audience, The
in demand use of computer system software has been implemented from PC, mobile and even
other means of technology and Applications / Games are now invading it. In years, Games are
also being implemented by the use of the World Wide Web. Programmers and developers
continuously discover and develop new faces, styles of games or apps which most of the people
were looking forward in it.

In line with this, several android applications are being developed running to the tablets.
Most are for gaming, application system, knowledge base system and data processing.

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Android tablets, smartphones and touchpad are very in demand in todays generation,
People are all having this kind of gadgets not just to personal and business but it also lessen
the boredom from work and daily stressful life. Enjoyment which might carried from the use of
this gadgets and maintaining to use as a stress and boredom relievers.

Games are one of the attractive features that the android tablets, smartphones and touch
pad have. The different version, styles and story of games makes the common user curious to
explore and enjoy from it. From the famous Facebook game CANDY Crush, tablet games
Plants versus Zombies, Temple run, Bubble Mania, and Angry Birds, people get to explore and
download games that might fits to their needs to lessen the boredom.

The group would like to develop an App for tablets to be able to provide a continuous
storyline program that will keep the user continuously playing from it. A story line gaming apps
which aims to gain scores from it, as the user interacts with the game. Since player is been
dealing with the story line, the interactive features, and graphics might help to be able to
generate a good gaming output.

Most of the gaming apps of todays make use of the scoring, making the cutest outfits
and changing it, making challenging for the gamer to think and create moves from it. Pet games
is also in the tablet apps nowadays, pet games are a games that might have to be challenging
to the user to take care of the pets as well us feed them, spoil the pets and feed it. This type of
games has attracted the user because of the involvement of sense of feeling too and sense of
responsibility.

The potchi apps gaming software used to develop by the team to improve a games
responsibility to pet through the use of this software. This also aims to provide a continuous
story line to the user of the app that might lead them to be challenged to play it day by day.

computer applications program. Several phases of computer program has been developed,
from a simple games, to RPG (role playing games), brain twisting games are most in demand
gaming software which are now incorporated with the mobile interfacing values. Another who is
now continuously wide spreading is the mobile and android up for fashion, accessories and
hairstyle.

Internet has been used to be able to address the need of the common users and
researcher. The wide use of internet for research of important topic, documents, history,
entertainment, weather forecast and including fashion are one of the latest uses of computer
application. And the involvement of the android applications will lead to the implementation of
different android games, which leads to popularize the plants vs. zombies, and the angry birds.

As of this point most of the application are not only converted and exclusively used in the
pc, but also implemented to tablets, and smart phones.

This pertains to evaluate the performance and functionality of the system or the
proposed system. The purpose of this features it to allow the user to apply, navigate and use
the program. This shall determine how the user can adapt the system and how they used to
carry out the functions and the interface as well.

To be able to observe process, this is the steps on how to navigate, and how to use with
the potchi game. The process will always involve the navigation of the main functionality of the
system as well as what is going to be the feedback to the user of the program. Primarily the
system would be able to send ideas to the users about certain functions of the program.
OUTPUT

Output deals with the result the inputs and process, this are the evaluation of the main
functionality of the user is browsing on. The output takes effect after processing conditions and
obtaining two states of the program which is the TRUE/FALSE method.

The users are the people who will be addressed by the proponent to develop this system.

The following are the things to be addressed by the proponent:

Does the Application provides correct information and determine the users type?

Does the Application buttons performs accurately?

Does the Application performs its intended functions all the time?
Does the Application satisfies the end-users needs?

Does the Application can be use without minimal help from other?

Does the Application has all the functions and capabilities I expect it to have?
4. Efficiency
Does the Application performs the desired output?

1.4 RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS

The development of Android nowadays is continuously increasing; it might be the


challenging, and exciting to this kind of research. The widespread of develop tablet apps
has been increasing in the IT world. Most are into Android programming which has been the
most in demand Programming apps of today.

The use of the PET Type gaming apps for Smartphones, tablets and touch pad is very
continuous in the in the development of an android program. This leads to a maintained
exciting games to the gamer, as well it also sustain the continuous playing time to the user.

As of today in demand apps, most were created for touchpad, smartphones and
tablets has level up games(stages games), has interactive features, has exciting stories,
and has a good fashionable appearance that shall allow the user to change the appearance
of the character. This type of application was in demand in the sense that most are created
in the way of learning and continuous playing.

As of todays level of development the proponents proposal would be recommended


to people, and to play by ordinary gamers, and as well as advance gamers. And this might
maintain exciting games to the users, and provides them a challenging games due to the
features that are mentioned.

1.5 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The following are the objectives of the proponents why they are going to develop the
Potchi android Apps.

1. Develop a computer software application that can be installed on mobile or android


tablet.
2. Develop a computer application that is reliable to common users.
3. Create a system / application which is more efficient to the users.
4. Create an easy navigated and realistic game for tablets.
5. Develop easy and well maintained software implemented in an android tablets or
smart phones.
1.6 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The proponents aim to develop the potchi apps to provide enjoyable application software
available in the most android phone system and android system. This shall aim to be able to
give user application software that would remind the user of the most significant terms and
history of the Philippines.

The proposed system will be most significant to the following:

Common users

This shall be able to address the enjoyment of the user by playing the android
game potchi Apps

AMA University

This shall serve as the reference of the students in terms of developing a


computer system application program using android system.

Proponents

This is very helpful to the proponents, allows giving deep knowledge about
research, and about the overall functionality of the program which is the
potchiapps

Future Researchers

This shall address as the references of other upcoming program developer of the
android system implemented software.

1.7 SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS


SCOPE

Good script -the game covers of the existing POU APP app and this shall
allow to be converted to potchi with a different story line script is jumping to attain
the targets.
Scoring features this allows to view the score of the hits of the character and a
level per level data in a way that it is being target by the character as they
targeted the object.
Game category selections- this allows the user to choose and view the game
how is it being done and play by the users/ gamers.
Appearance / Lifestyle and fashion = this will allows the user to change the outfit
of the character daily or even from to time.
Level up game features the game covers a level by level game features that
allows the gamers to get challenge from it.
And exciting PET app features this features the exciting pet caring software
that allows them, and requires the user to take care, feed the pet in order to get
the food and targets for playing.

LIMITATION

The system cannot be implemented in pc based system.


It is software created only for touch screen pads, or touchscreen phones.
This is not compatible except for android phones and smart phones.

1.8 DEFINITION OF TERMS

party developer. For example, android.intent.action.VIEW for a Web URL, or
com.example.rumbler.SHAKE_PHONE for a custom application to vibrate the phone.
2. Android-A Linux-based operating system designed primarily for touchscreen mobile
devices such as smartphones and tablet computer.
3. Canvas-A drawing surface that handles compositing of the actual bits against a
Bitmap or Surface object. It has methods for standard computer drawing of bitmaps,
lines, circles, rectangles, text, and so on, and is bound to a Bitmap or Surface.
Canvas is the simplest, easiest way to draw 2D objects on the screen. However, it
does not support hardware acceleration, as OpenGL ES does.
4. Drawable - A compiled visual resource that can be used as a background, title, or
other part of the screen. A drawable is typically loaded into another UI element, for
example as a background image. A drawable is not able to receive events, but does
assign various other properties to enable subclasses such as animation objects or
image libraries. Many drawable objects are loaded from drawable resource files
xml or bitmap files that describe the image.
5. Graphics - A visual presentations on some surface, such as a wall, canvas, screen,
paper, or stone to brand, inform, illustrate, or entertain.
6. Launcher - Collectively, the part of the Android UI on the home screen that allows
you to launch apps, make phone calls, etc. It is built into Android, or can be
purchased in the Android Market.
7. Splash Screen - A splash screen is an image that appears while Android is loading.
Splash screens cover the entire screen or simply a rectangle near the center of the
screen. The splash screens of operating systems and some applications that expect
to be run full-screen usually cover the entire screen.
8. Theme - A set of properties (text size, background color, and so on) bundled
together to define various default display settings. Android provides a few standard
themes.
9. Widget - One of a set of fully implemented View subclasses that render form
elements and other UI components, such as a text box or popup menu. Because a
widget is fully implemented, it handles measuring and drawing itself and responding
to screen events.
10. Window - In an Android application, an object derived from the abstract class
Window that specifies the elements of a generic window, such as the look and feel
(title bar text, location and content of menus, and so on). Dialog and Activity use an
implementation of this class to render a window. You do not need to implement this
class or use windows in your application
