QA Programs

I. Video Software Product Company

Challenge: This client needed to fold in a newly-acquired company whose product offered Internet ca-
pability for video messaging and streaming, yet they had minimal in-house QA capabilities.

Solution: An SQA Custom Made Team provided a set of strategic recommendations for merging the
new and existing QA groups, as well as standardizing processes, providing interim QA group manage-
ment, and hands-on test lead and execution resources.

Impact: With SQAs recommendations, our client was able to integrate the two organizations, standard-
ize QA processes and ensure that adequate product testing was done to meet release dates.

II. large Regional Bank

Challenge: This client used separate testing teams within each business group. Senior management
wanted to move to an IT-based central QA group in order to position the bank for a critical online initia-
tive, and to better respond to ongoing acquisitions and mergers.

In addition to creating a new central QA organization, this client also wanted to implement new QA
processes, and make better use of automated test tools for functional testing.

Solution: SQA performed an initial QA and testing assessment that provided a roadmap for improving
the QA process, organizational strategy, and test automation. The client then engaged SQA in follow-on
phases to implement portions of the recommendations, and provide testing resources for three critical
new projects.

Impact: Our client was able to successfully launch a new QA group that provided centralized and ef-
ficient testing and QA services for three new business-critical initiatives.

III. World-Renowned Higher Education Leader

Challenge: Because of an increase in their programs, our client needed to launch a new version of a web-
based classroom management application. This new version needed to function and perform properly
while accommodating a tenfold increase (from 170 to 2000) in the number of online courses it supported.
This client had no existing formal QA process or test automation capabilities.

Solution: SQA provided strategic recommendations for a new test automation process, recommended
test tools and performed hands-on functional and performance testing. We also provided recommenda-
tions for an overall QA process including requirements management, defect tracking, and the creation of
quality gates and metrics.

Impact: This client successfully launched the new application in time for the new semester, while main-
taining their reputation in higher education and positioning their institution for success with future ap-
plications and systems.
