Evidencing research into your chosen profession

It is an expectation that either prior to application or indeed prior to interview,

you have taken practical measures to thoroughly research the requirements of
professional training for entry into the teaching profession. This can be achieved
in a variety of ways from visiting the TDA website, to serious independent study
of a more orthodox nature using a variety of texts, professional journal and
educational publications.

Visiting a school or a number of schools and engaging in focused observation of

teaching and interacting with teachers, represents the most obvious strategy and
is considered an important characteristic of stronger applicants.

Option A
If you completed your school visit prior to interview then you should complete
this form as a record of your visit and obtain the signature of the staff contact at
the school, in order to confirm that the visit took place. You should bring this
form with you to the interview.

Option B
If you were unable to complete your school visit prior to interview and have
subsequently been offered a place, you should do so before enrolment and bring
this form with you to induction week.
