Dear sir,
Re: STATE SECURITY AGENCY / NB PUBLISHERS AND JACQUES PAUW.
We refer to the above matter and to your letter dated the 6" November 2017. It is similarly our

intention not to respond to each and every allegation ther
We have noted your comments that our letter dated the 1° November 2017 does not give
specificities about the inaccuracies to which we refer. In so far as you and/or your clients request
those specificities in the book, we confirm that we shall revert to you with a comprehensive list as
your clients correctly request. Our clients do recognize that your clients will need order to
accede to the demand for retraction.
We note further that you and your clients have elected to focus on only one of the options we have
stated in our letter. This notwithstanding, you will note that we have also included legal routes other
than the urgent court interdict that you and your clients appear to have expected, prefer and have
prepared yourselves for.
We take note of your generous lecture on the requirements of urgency in the event of an urgent
application. We confirm that we are fully conversant of those.
‘We note too that your preferred approach coincides with the general narrative that your clients and
‘the media sympathetic to them are selling to the public. It is not relevant for us to deal with that as
it falls outside the scope of our instructions.Although you and your clients seem to have pinned your hopes on the unfortunate assumption that
our clients would elect to proceed herewith by way of an urgent interdict, we assure you that the
relevant authorities will soon alert you and your clients about the legal route that our clients have
already taken.
‘Thanking you for your attention.
