Lesson idea implementation: In this lesson, the teacher will be teaching the students about the important
American symbols and how to identify them. The teacher will introduce each symbol and ask the students
what they think it is. After getting some observations and guesses from the students, the teacher will then
move on to the next slide that correctly identifies each symbol. This project will be introduced to the students
with the first slide and if they have seen any important American symbols while they traveled. The first slide
of the PowerPoint has a picture of the United States of America with each state labeled.

This lesson should take anywhere between 15-20 minutes to do in the classroom. The teacher will give a
pause between each symbol for the students to make an educated guess on what they believe the symbol is.
After the PowerPoint is concluded, the teacher will randomize the pictures and have a student correctly
identify what the symbol is. This tool will help students to create a PowerPoint and understand how to use
this for different assignments and projects. The teacher will conclude the lesson by having the students draw
what their favorite symbol is, and write a few sentences about why it is their favorite symbol and a fact about
the symbol. The teacher will provide feedback to the students after the PowerPoint presentation is over
about what they learned.
