Social currency : with or without sound

Social currency refers to the link that is established between people. We tend
to believe it is only based on the art of talking, but this is not always the case. I agree
that it can be settled without any sound. I think silence is a harder, but interesting
way of communication. Many words can mean nothing, while their lack can mean
everything. The feelings that are sent and the views that are shared are very
important, maybe more important than a single spoken word.
For example, when you meet somebody you like, you dont talk to her at first,
what makes you fall in love is what you can see, as we name it love at first sight. In
the same way, unlike us, deaf people demonstrate how they can incredibly
understand much more without being able to hear.
American Sign Language (ASL) is a complete, complex language that employs
signs made by moving the hands combined with facial expressions and postures of
the body. It is the primary language of many North Americans who are deaf and is
one of several communication options used by people who are deaf or hard-of-
hearing. In spoken language, words are produced by using the mouth and voice to
make sounds. But for people who are deaf, the sounds of speech are often not heard,
and only a fraction of speech sounds can be seen on the lips.
Sign languages are based on the idea that vision is the most useful tool a deaf
person has to communicate and receive information. There are about 70 million deaf
people who use sign language as their first language and it has been around as long, if
not longer than spoken language.
