I will start my lesson by greeting the students and having them sit nicely, I will follow with
drawing the letter Aa on the board and say Raise your hands if you know this letter. I will then
say this letter is Ah, all of you say Ah and repeat it a few times till I feel like they understood
it. I will then show them a picture of an ant and ask What is this? if they answered Ill have the
students clap for one another, if not Ill have them say Ah Ah Ant a few times, and the same thing
with the ant picture. Then Ill sing ants on the apply Ah Ah Ah ants on the apple Ah Ah Ah ants on
the apple Ah Ah Ah skip to the Lou my darling. Then Ill tell the story of how one day an ant ate
an apple, then a girl ate the apple so she had to go to the hospital to see who? The doctor, now who
will take her to the hospital, I will take out a picture of an ambulance car, what car is this? Its an

High: Students will get worksheets with words that have the letter A with their pictures next to
them, the students will circle the letter a in each word and colour the pictures.
For the closing I will first have all the students clean up and sit down, some would have played and
some would have done worksheets. I will have them sit by the circle centre and ask them, Class
what letter did you learn today? Ah! Ah! Yes, good job everyone, now let me see you write the big

I will assess the students by asking them questions throughout their activities, such as what are you
doing?, What colour is the apple?, what is the sound of the letter youre writing, and what is the name
