Student Number: 85201598 With rapid growth of using wind power Program of Study: in the world and tendency to this clean Electrical Engineering and cheap energy in our country, study of Field of Study: Power different aspects of wind power Thesis Adviser: Dr. Mostafa Parniani application has become more important than ever. Increasing penetration of wind Keywords: parks in power systems leads to the need 1- Fixed Speed Wind Turbine for precise studies about their dynamic 2- Doubly Fed Induction Generator behavior and modeling. In this project, (DFIG) the exact and reduced order dynamic 3- Modeling models of the fixed speed and DFIG- 4- Linearization based wind turbines are obtained. Then, 5- Dynamic Analysis the characteristics of dynamic modes of 6- Transient Stability the system, their physical nature and effective parameters on them are investigated. Furthermore, the dynamic behavior of these turbines during the fault and after fault clearing are analyzed and compared. The simulations validate the analytical results. Results show that the rotor speed increment is limited in both kinds of the studied wind turbines. However, in DFIG case, the system certainly comes back to the initial operating point.
