Project: Umm Al Hayman 300/132/11kV S/S & 132/11kV S/S for Battery & Charger
Compliance on MEW Specifications.

We comply Clause 8.21 to 8.2.5, 8.2.8 & 8.2.9 (of 'Specifications and General Requirements with
respect to 220V and 110V DC Systems Subject to following comments.

8.2.8.12 DC Distribution is not in our scope of Supply.

8.2.9.1 Test Points are available in the PCBs.
8.2.9.3 Offered Batteries are Nickel Cadmium Batteries. Batteries are mounted in Steel Racks
Vented Nickel Cadmium batteries are considered in this offer as per the requirement.
Our proposal is based upon the following assumptions and interpretations of your enquiry. If these
assumptions or interpretations are incorrect, please advise us and we will revise our offer accordingly.
Otherwise we comply to the specifications sent with the enquiry.

UPS designed as per IEC Standards.

Tests will be carried out at 50 Hz in normal ambient conditions of our testing plant. Batteries will
not be available for factory test. Results of production tests for the contract batteries will be made
available.
We have offered a microprocessor based CP70R system with LCD for indication, measurement
& control.
Proposed system is Single Configuration DC System with 1 x 100% Rectifier, 1 x 100%
Battery Bank.
Battery installation on racks.
Charger and associated components shall be inside separate cubicle. Dropper diodes are installed
inside separate cubicle.
Proposed batteries are of 20 years design life.
Battery sizing carried out based on the following factors:
- Load as per RFQ Load profile.
- Design Temperature: -6/55degC
- Design Margin: 1.1
- Ageing factor: 1.25
- Load tolerance: +16/-15%
- E.O.D: 1.12V/cell
- Recharge voltage: 1.5V/cell.
Interconnecting cables from System to battery Bank is not included in the Offer, as cable length
is not mentioned. But we will advice you the cable size / rating during engineering Stage.
Gland plates for the UPS Systems is provided undrilled. Cable gland not in our scope of supply.

section:
- General arrangement and front view of charger
- Electrical drawings
- Battery internal layout
- Safety rules and precaution
- Technical characteristics
- Installation, maintenance and repair information.
