The Trombone 3.

Installation Guide (Mac & PC)

IMPORTANT ANTI-PIRACY NOTE

To improve protection against software piracy, several identification tools are now applied to each
individual instrument. This means that any pirated instrument (or nki file) downloaded from the
Internet, or otherwise distributed, can be traced back to its original purchaser.
Hence, never make your instrument/nki files available to anyone!

Upgrading the previous Trombone version to v. 3.0

It is possible to keep the old Trombone version and use it along with the new one. In this case please
perform the installation of The Trombone 3.0 as described below. Please note that, while v.1 will
remain viable in existing installations, the qualifying licence of this software product will expire, and
all the rights pertaining to the product will be transferred to v. 3.0.
If the previous version 1 is not needed we recommend removing it from your system. Please refer to
the chapter Removing an earlier version of The Trombone at the end of the Guide.

How to install The Trombone 3.0 for Kontakt 4 or 5

I. Kontakt / Kontakt Player

The Trombone 3.0 is supplied with Native Instruments Kontakt Player 5 software which is included
as a separate installer (the links have been sent to you via e-mail along with the instrument software).
The most recent version of the Kontakt Player can be also downloaded directly from the Native
Instruments site:

http://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/synths-samplers/kontakt-5-player/free-download/

The Trombone v. 3.0 is also fully compatible with Kontakt Player 4.2. Earlier Kontakt versions
cannot be used.

If the suitable Kontakt software is already installed on your system, please continue with the
section II below.

If neither of the above Kontakt versions is installed on your system, install the Kontakt Player 5
following the instructions of the Kontakt installer. Please refer to the Player Manual for further
details.
II. Installing The Trombone 3.0

The Trombone 3.0 ZIP-file you have downloaded and extracted contains the Readme file, the folder
