Respiratory System

The respiratory is responsible for inhaling oxygen into the body and exhaling carbon dioxide

out of the body. The oxygen takin in is then distributed around the body in order to energize

organs to help carry out their functions. Respiratory organs consist of sinuses, capillaries,

trachea, diaphragm, bronchial tubes and greatly the lungs. The lungs exchange the gases that go

in and out of the body. An individuals respiratory system is crucial for life, after five minutes

without oxygen the brain starts to die. https://medlineplus.gov Medical Encyclopedia A

normal respiration rate for an adult human is 12-16 breathes per minute. The higher it is the

more likely they have an obstruction or weaker respiratory system. The common diseases that

occur in the respiratory system are separated into two categories which are viruses such like

influenza and bacterial pneumonia. The second category is enterovirus respiratory virus, which

are chronic disease such like asthma. Influenza and bacterial pneumonia are obstructions in the

air way causing inflammation and difficulty breathing, along with asthma; however, asthma does

not have a cure. This is the main difference between influenza and pneumonia, and chronic

diseases such like asthma. One big form of lung disease is lung cancer. In lung cancer the

individuals respiratory system and all the little tunnels that transport oxygen around the body

gets blocked. Much of the time individuals with lung cancer are smokers.

healthy respiratory system an individual must eat well and get good exercise to increase the

strength of the lungs and tunnels called capillaries and bronchi tubules. The more a individual

exercises the pockets and tunnels of the lungs increase in elasticity, which means they are able to

filter and generate the oxygen easier. A natural degeneration of the respiratory system occurs to

all individuals over years of aging. Typically, as the lungs go through process of degeneration
the respiratory system decreases in the ability of air flow exchange, oxygen capacity intake, and

weakening of respiratory muscles. https://www.merckmanuals.com ... Biology of the

Lungs and Airways The environment also effects the respiratory system with the high levels of

smog and from industrial factories. Although, the biosphere is not the healthiest there are steps

measured to enhance ones respiratory system and prevent from diseases.
