Unit Summary:
In this unit students will conduct extensive research assignments to explore countries located in Central America and the
Caribbean. This unit will be highly student-centered, for they will be able to choose a country of their interest to research distinct
aspects such as geographical location, flag meaning, food, music, tourism and political/famous figure. They will organize their
information in a brochure and present it to the class so that everyone learns general information about each country. Later, they
will continue to research a country of their interest and create a popplet to present more specific information about one aspect of
the country and present it to the class. Lastly, they will write a 4-6-page essay to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the country
