What were the causes of the American Revolution? What ideas influenced the colonists to pursue independence? Who were these individuals? How
did religion affect the colonists thinking? What was the economic, political, and social impact of the French-Indian War on the British colonies in the
New World? And How did the colonists respond to the Parliamentary legislation?

Unit Summary:
The purpose of this lesson/unit is for you to recognize what events triggered the American Revolution and what ideologies were prevalent leading up
to the revolution. You will learn how the ideas of the enlightenment and the Great Awakening both influenced the thinking of the American colonies
their decision to revolt. Moreover, you will learn about the economic ramifications of French-Indian War its effects on the colonists. Finally, you will
be researching and interpreting evidence about the different methods of colonial responses to the British legal oversight enacted by Parliament. By the
end of the unit you will be able to answer the question: what was the cause of the American Reovlution?
