Session: M1 Internal Assessment I Date: 20 /09/2017
Sub Name: BS Total Time: 90 Mins
Sub Code: 15CV34 Semester: III Total Marks: 30

Note: Answer any five full questions. Each Question carry 6 marks

1. What are the various classifications of Surveying.

2. Explain the principle of an Optical Square and why is it used?
3. Describe the basic principles of surveying.
4. List the different Tape Corrections and give their expressions
5. A line was measured with a steel tape which was exactly 20m at 20C and a pull of 50N
and the measured length was 459.242m. Temperature during measurement was 28C and
the pull applied was 100N. The tape was uniformly supported during measurement. Find
the true length of the line if the cross-sectional area of the tape was 0.04cm. The
coefficient of expansion per C is 0.0000117. The modulus of elasticity = 21 X 106 N/
cm.
