1. Set up the schedule table

Enter workstreams, tasks and activities with a index in columns B and C
Adjust the time line by entering the start date of the schedule in cell D4. Then adjust the the months in row 8

2. Define the time schedule for each workstream, task and activity
You can enter three dates per item: the planned start date, the planned end date and the critical deadline
A grey line is automatically drawn from the start to the end date
Usually each item is marked with "Not Started" in column E in the beginning

3. Addition information
You may enter additional information, e.g. responsibilities or interdependencies

4. Status
As long as the start date of an item is in the future and the activity is marked with "Not Started" the Status is white
If the acitivity is started and the item is in time (<end date) the status is green
If the acitivity is finished the status is always green
The status turns red if the item is not in time (end date is passed and acitivity is not started or started) or the activity
