Fjate la estructura con "prefer" utiliza "to" para comparar y la estructura con "rather" utiliza "than".
Teora:
preferira.
Veamos algunos ejemplos:
Ejemplo 4: Would you rather sleep or stay awake?Preferiras dormir o permanecer despierto?
Diferencia importante entre "would prefer" y would rather: El verbo que sigue a would
would rather va en infinitivo sin to.
Podemos decir:
Ejemplo 1 : I'd rather you spoke in English. Preferira que hablases (o hablaras) en ingls.
Ejemplo 2: My brother would rather we didn't go home. Mi hermano preferira que no fusemos (o
furamos) a casa.
diferencias:
a) Past Simple
When I was young I played tennis (no nos da ninguna informacin sobre si en la
actualidad sigo jugando al tenis o no)

finalizado)
b) Present Perfect
I have worked in this bank for ten years (todava contino en el banco)
This morning I have had a very tense meeting with my boss (an es por la maana)
Today I have visited my parents (el da todava no ha finalizado)
My brother has broken his glasses (las gafas se han roto recientemente y siguen rotas)
My brother broke his glasses (no sabemos si las gafas ya estn arregladas o no)
F) Neither-nor-either- or- so-both
Ejemplo:
She doesn't 't like either pears or apples.
She neither likes pears nor apples.
