What did you do last night?
In this innovative teaching activity, students try to guess what their classmates did last night
by asking past simple yes/no questions.

Before class, make one copy of the cards for every three or four students and cut as
indicated.

Procedure

Divide the class into small groups.

Give each group a set of picture cards and ask them to put the cards in a pile face down.

Each picture card shows what the student did last night.

Students take it in turns to pick up a card.

The other students try to guess what the student holding the card did last night using the
past simple question form 'Did you?'

When a student guesses correctly, they keep the picture card.

The student with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
