INTRODUCTION
Forty nine (49) years ago, New Corella National High School which formerly New Corella Corella Community High School located at New Corella, Davao del Norte was born of a simple
history wherein none could tell exactly the events of its existence except those who were linked to her glorious birth. This was way back in the back in the 1965 when a group of poor constituents
requested the barrio officials to create a public high school to answer the needs of the education of their children.

The barangay officials passed a resolution to the Municipal Government for the creation of New Corella Community High
School. Municipal Government gave no hesitation in helping the people for their welfare. It was in 1995 they noted the Presidential
Proclamation and in 1966 the school was established.
The first school site was located beside the Municipal
Gymnasium presently occupied by the waterworks reservoir in
1966-1967. The school building was a residential building donated
by a generous person. There were only two teachers at the
beginning, namely: Mr. Enriquez Jr. as School In Charge; and Ms.
Orlita Sabampan with only one section of 39 students. But the
existence of New Corella Community High School lasted only for years
in the said site, when the Municipal Government took over the responsibility of the said school and gave a better location as
permanent school site.

The past school-charge were: Mr. Carlos P. Enriquez Jr., SY 1966-1970; Ms. Orlita Sabampan SY 1970-1971; Ms. Teresita

Narrative on Situation on Learners- Access

For the past three years, the school had recorded several factors causing the student to leave
school. Financial matters and disasters topped which is followed by child labor, health problem,
change of residence also were noted as other reasons of dropping-out. Fortunately, in the school
dropout rate had dramatically declined from 0.069% in SY 2014-2015 to 0.031% in SY 2015-2016.
These results were attributed to the schools initiatives of keeping the students in the classroom. The
school had mechanisms to address the dropout rate like home visitation which is conducted year
round. Each teacher is required to have conduct home visitation for a maximum of ten students or
as the arises.
