THOMAS CARNEY , state that am a Special Agent

with the FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (FBI), and have been so

employed for approximately fifteen years. Being duly sworn , I

West Palm Beach , Florida , advised your affiant that a warrant for
the arrest of JUAN DIO S GARZA , white m ale , date of birth September

1953, height five feet seven and one-half inches, w eight pounds ,

was issued by the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court , Criminal Division ,

in and for Palm Beach County , STATE OF FLORIDA , charging GARZA with
Murder Second Degree , wherein on October 1984, GARZA shot and

killed one RICARDO CHAVEZ. This w arrant w as issued on October 21,

1984.

Detective STEVE LANDRUM , PALM BEACH COUNTY SHERIFF 'S

OFFICE, Belle Glade, Florida , advised your affiant on October 1984,

that he has receiv ed inform ation from an investigation at Belle
Glade , that JUAN DIOS GA RZA has left the STATE OF FLORIDA and is

residing in the Mercedes , Texas area to avoid arrest and prosecution

on the above-mentioned murder charges. Specifically ,

a) GARZA owns property and a home near Mercedes,

Tex as .

GARZA has family members who reside in

Mercedes , Texas.

c) GARZA was born in Mexico , not far from

Mercedes , Texas.

unsuccessful in locating the defendant .
