OFFICE OF MAYOR-ELECT JACOB FREY ANNOUNCES KEY

STAFF AND TRANSITION TEAM APPOINTMENTS
Chief of Staff role will be filled by former House Member Joe Radinovich,
Transition Team will be led by R.T. Rybak, Sondra Samuels, and Chelsie Glaubitz Gabiou

Minneapolis, MN November 15, 2017: The office of Mayor-Elect Jacob Frey

announced today key appointments to his office and Transition Team.

The Chief of Staff position will be filled by former Minnesota House of Representatives
member and mayoral campaign manager Joe Radinovich. Radinovich brings to the
Mayor-Elects office his own policymaking experience as both a state legislator and a
former Assistant Commissioner in the Dayton administration, as well as his successful
campaign work on U.S. Representative Rick Nolans campaign and Jacob Freys
mayoral campaign.

Also helming the Mayor-Elects office will be Heidi Ritchie as the policy initiatives lead
and Zack Farley as the administrative and scheduling lead. Both Ritchie and Farley
served in Freys Ward 3 Council office and will make a seamless transition to new roles
in the Mayors office.

The Mayor-Elects Transition Team will be chaired by Minneapolis Foundation President

and CEO and former Mayor of Minneapolis R.T. Rybak, Northside Achievement Zone
CEO Sondra Samuels, and President of the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation
Chelsie Glaubitz Gabiou. A smooth transition of leadership benefits not just the Mayor-
Elect but the entire city of Minneapolis, said Rybak. Were all excited to support the
Mayor-Elect and his strong vision for Minneapolis through our work on this team.
As articulated in his acceptance speech November 8, Frey is eager to get to work. We
all need to be bridge builders right now, said Frey. Im ready to do exactly what I said
Id do and that means building a broad-based coalition so that we can start focusing on
advancing key issues for the city of Minneapolis.

A policy task force will be chaired by Elizabeth Glidden, outgoing Ward 8 City Council
Member, and Abou Amara, former policy director for the Minnesota House of
Representatives. The team will solicit, evaluate, and research policy ideas with the
intention of providing the Mayor-Elect with recommendations both short and long-term.

The task force will oversee two working groups focused on supporting the Mayor-Elects
biggest initial focus areas, police accountability and affordable housing. Residents,
organizations, community leaders, and all incoming City Council members will be invited
to take part in either the working groups or transition work.

Now that the campaign portion is done, Im excited to get to work, said Frey. We have
a big vision to get underway and Im excited to have the support of so many seasoned
leaders as we put our plans into action.

The Mayor-Elect takes office January 2, 2018. Media inquiries should be directed to
