INTRODUCTION

Sports is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team
competes against another or others for entertainment. Nowadays, sports become a something
that have a demand on their self. In this country, many peoples want to get involved in sports
because they realise that involve in sports can make them more healthy, more fitness and
more energetic. Some peoples also think if they participate in sports they can improve their
skills in a sports that they are participate. Otherwise, some people think when they get
involved in sports, they can make more money to live in a high cost living.

There are many types of sports example like sports management. Sports management
means two elements combined in one to improve the quality of sports. Sports management is
about to organised the team or athletes to become more excellent his sports career. When
someone get involved in sports management, they can get job easily because sports
management offers many types of job to the people who study about sports management and
involved in sports management. Example job that have in a sports management is be a
coaching, be a manager team and be a manager in government sports association. There are
many ex-footballers in Malaysia be a coach nowadays. They want to be a coach because
they have an experience in football. They know how organised the team and they know how
to make the team become one of the most powerful football team in a Malaysian League. In
this individual assignments, I would like to tell about Dollah Salleh as a football coaches.

BACKGROUND OF DOLLAH SALLEH

Dollah bin Salleh was born on 23 October 1963 at Malacca. Dollah Salleh is a former
Malaysian football player. He is now the coach of the Perlis team after be a Malaysias
national coach who replaced Datuk K. Rajagopal. Dolah Salleh starting career as a player in
1985, Dollah become one of the worst striker to join Selangor team. He also become a
partnership with Zainal Abidin Hassan. Together with Zainal Abidin Hassan and Fandi
Ahmad, they helped Pahang team win the Malaysian league in 1992.

Furthermore Dollah Salleh was choosen to play in a Malaysian national team. In 1989,
Dollah Salleh won the Southeast Asian Games gold medaland also won the Pestabola
Merdeka in 1993. He also made an appearance in the first edition of the ASEAN Football
Championship in 1996. He retired as a professional player after the end of the Malaysian
league in 1998.

In 2003, Dollah returned to the local football arena as MPPJ Selangor coach. He
created history when bring MPPJ to the Malaysian Cup champions in 2003. He then led
MPPJ to the Super League after MPPJ be the champion of Premier League Champion in
2004.

In 2005, the Selangor Football Association took him to Selangor. In the first year of
semifinal with Selangor, he got a champions of three tropies (Malaysian Premier League,
Malaysian FA Cup , Malaysian Cup ). Next, in 2009 he signed a contract with Shahzan Muda
to be a coach for Pahang team.

JOB SCOPE AND HIS RESPONSIBILITIES

Dollah Salleh be a coach in a Malaysian League is to improve our team in Malaysia

and to deliver devotion to our country in sports. In coaching scope, Dollah Salleh must
prepare for planning, organising and delivering an appropriate range of sports activities and
programmes for the team. Dollah Salleh also must teach relevant skill, tactics and techniques
to his player by providing encouragement. He should always monitoring and controlling their
players performance to keep their performance in a high level because this thing is apart
from the job scope in a coaching.

Dollah Salleh responsibilities in his career are so heavy. He must make sure that
their players always in a good performance and stay healthy. He also must take care about
their players fitness because as a players football, they must have a strong fitness because
they will face many championship, competitions and matches. Dollah Salleh also must
always keep the team win every match with his incredible ideas and tactical. If Dollah Salleh
cannot make the team win every match or cannot make the team in the best position in league
maybe Dollah Salleh will be stopped his contract with the team. As a coach, Dollah Salleh
should know the weakness of their forthcoming opponents.

SKILL NEEDED TO PERFORM AS A FOOTBALL COACH

As a teenagers, we should have an ambition, we should know what we want to be in the

future. If our ambition is to be a coach for the football teams, we must have some skill that
needed in a coaching. As a football coach, we should have a strong quality in a making
decision as well as knowing a lot about the subject. We also must have good and brilliants
ideas that we can carry out when we have a coaching meeting. We cannot be a person that
lack of ideas because if we did not share our ideas, we will be very bad coach. We must give
our 100% cooperation with others in order to achieve what team management wants.

As a football coach, we also should always focus on the coaching process and focus on
the upcoming games that we will face. Once we be a football coach, we must have our own
subject expertise and helping the players that have a problem. We should always belief and
confident on potential that our players have. From that we can have understanding with all
our players. This thing can make players more comfortable with their coach and they can
easily ask their coach how to improve their performance. We must brave to take any risk in
achieving our goals and team goals.

ACHIEVEMENT IN SPORT MANAGEMENT CAREER

Once be in a sports management, we will always hold on to the words NEVER GIVE UP
ON SOMETHING and LOST IS NOT TO LOSE FOREVER. Dollah Salleh has a very
superb achievement when he involves in sports management and participate in coaching.
There are some achievement that Dollah Salleh get in his career.

CONCLUSION FROM OBSERVATION

Based on my observation while to complete this assignment, I was get many

information about sport management and the most important is I get to know very well on
individual that take a seriously in sports management industry. Sports management is the best
thing that I learn. Sports management also teach me on how to manage a team or athlete.
From know I know about something, if I be a manager or coach one days that means I should
develop more skill and knowledge about sports management in order to achieve the
management goals. I also very attractive with Dollah Salleh history in sports management
industry either when he becomes a players or when he becomes a coach.

There will have some obstacles when we be a coach in footballs or something

else. There also will have some obstacles when we be a manager team but we can avoid it if
we have more skills in management and more knowledge about sports management. Many
people can success in life if they involves in sports management industry. Lastly, I want to
say that learning about sports management is a good ways to improving the dignity of our
countrys sports in the world.
