General Course Information

requisites, & other Chin-1311 and Chin-1312, or the same level of language proficiency

This course is designed for students who have successfully completed


the First Part of Integrated Chinese, Level One and those who have
acquired the same level of language proficiency or above. Students will
Course Description continue to develop their verbal communication skills with expanding
vocabulary and sentence structures to be able to function in various social
settings. In reading and writing, more emphasis will be shifted from
pinyin to authentic Chinese writing system – the characters.

Students will reinforce and expand their ability to understand spoken Chinese.
Students will expand functional Chinese vocabulary and apply them in verbal
communication.
Learning Outcomes
Students will write 600 characters and be able to apply them in reading and
writing.

No make-up exams or tests except for unusual circumstances, in which case students
Make-up Exams must arrange with the instructor before hand.

Extra credit may be granted for students’ special, creative work


Extra Credit
Students have to hand in their assignments in a timely manner. Late work will result
Late Work in a 10% reduction of each total grade.

Regular attendance is required. Be puncture and consult with the instructor when an
absence is necessary. More than 3 hours of unexcused absence will result in

All cell phones and pagers must be turned off in the classroom. Students are expected
