Transcript of Automated Entrance Exam

Chapter I

Background of the Study

Our system is all about the entrance exam of the students who will be enrolling in
Antipolo Immaculate Conception School. The AUTOMATED ENTRANCE EXAMINATION is easier
than the written exam because its automated and less effort and less expensive.
First they will be asked to sign up the basic information given like name, age, sex
and so on. The program will be automatically encode their information in the server
computer.
The program will compute the score of the student who take the exam and it will
show automatically after taking the test if he/she passed or failed the exam.
The system has its own time of how long the student consumed the time while taking
the test.
We will encode the questions the school given to us, the student will only choose
the letter of the correct answer by clicking the button after the multiple choices.

Automated Entrance Exam

Purpose of the Study
First of all we are doing this for our school project. The purpose of this is to
gauge our knowledge about making a system. We did a system about the automated exam
to minimize the work of the guidance (AICS) and to make the work easier. The
purpose of this is to make the school entrance examination make more simple and
lessen the expenses of the school.
We would say that exams are a very costly way of measuring learning. This is
because the exam system distorts the very purpose of learning so we did an
automated exam to make the students experience the technology we are living right
now. The system is very useful to all guidance section of the school.

Statement of the Problem

1. That the study has no existing information system.

2. That the study introduces traditional written entrance exam that leads to
increase time consumption.

3. That the study experiences clerical error in computing the total score result of
the exam.

Objectives of the Study

1. The Automated Entrance Examination system will be implemented in order to
provide system solutions.

2. The Automated Entrance Examination system will decrease time consumption.

3. The Automated Entrance Examination will automatically compute the total score
result of the exam.

Scope and Limitations of the Study

The scope and limitations of our system, our system is only for a specific school
only. We are not connected in other system of the school like registrar and the
cashier we are only focusing on the entrance exam, we are on the guidance section
of the school.
Our system runs only in a LAN connection we are not connected on the internet or
websites. We did system just to improve the exam of the new students applying to
the school (Antipolo Immaculate Conception School).
Our system Programming Language is Visual Basic.Net that only runs in VB.Net P.L.
The scope of our system is only in the school guidance. Our system has no license.
Its just a school project.

Review of Related Study

Our system will be the first Automated Examination of Antipolo Immaculate

Conception School. The former system exam is manual so that it is expensive. Our
entrance exam is to be a modern type of an entrance exam, mostly we use paper as a
questioner but we can also make a computerized or an automated entrance exam like
our system it is less expensive and more easier to use by the guidance staffs.

Review of Related Literature

The Antipolo Immaculate Conception School owes its beginning to the kindergarten
founded by the late Ms. Agapita Sumulong Panganiban, better known as LOLA PETANG.
In 1956, after the liberation, on the ground floor of a two-storey house on Lopez
Jaena St. Lola Petang opened her kindergarten teaching therein orphans and children
of poor families. Hers was the first and only kindergarten then in Antipolo.
Her first 40 students grew in number and burgeoned into hundreds as years went by.
Eventually, Lola Pet relinquished the management of the school to her niece, Mrs.
Lolita Mendoza, who sought and was granted the official permit to permit the
operation of the school in 1982.
Thus, the Antipolo Kindergarten which Lola Pet founded was renamed Immaculate
Conception Kindergarten (ICK) in honor of Antipolos patron saint as well as the
patron saint of our country.
Before opening the Academic Year 1989 1990, due to the rapid increase in
enrollment, the school president constructed a four room building. Government
recognition was granted in 1991 for Nursery, Kindergarten and Preparatory or the
Pre School Level.
After 3 years, for the School Year 1993 1994, classes from Grade I to Grade VI
commenced. The name of the school was sectarian institution. Government Recognition
for the Elementary Level was granted after a year.
In deference to the parents clamor for the secondary education of their children,
the AICS High School Department opened on June 8, 1996.
Over the years, AICS has produced Immaculadians who had been proclaimed champions
in various academic competitions particularly in Mathematics.
In sports, AICS has consistently produced winners in District and City Meet as well
as in Southern tagalog Calabarzon Athletic Meet and Palarong Pambansa.
The AICS Drum & Lyre Corps had been bestowed the Hall of Fame for both high school
and elementary categories.
The institution, from its humble beginning, continuously grows and produces pupils
and students whose talents and skills bring laurels to themselves and to this
institution. A great number of AICS alumni have thus far earned success in varied
fields of endeavor. AICS will forever be the light that beckons the youth into its
fold and will keep on its missions as an Academic Institution committed to Service.

CHAPTER III
Research Methodology
First we gathered information by asking the school problems and its capability.
We intend to conduct our interview in Antipolo Immaculate Conception School (AICS)
The purpose of the system is to improve, simplify and lessen its effort of taking
the entrance exam and the following question that we asked.

1.) Would you like us make your entrance exam computerized?

2.) Any suggestion about the said system?
3.) How many student in this school?
4.) How many subject include in the entrance exam?

CHAPTER V
Executive Summary

Why Automated Entrance Examination instead of written?

Because automated entrance exam is more reliable than the written exam. Most of the
school is using an automated entrance exam you dont need to worry about filing the
exam and after taking the examination the result of your exam will be printed and
will be saved to the server this system is the best way to lessen the work of the
teachers and the student it is easy and fun questions are changeable by using this
program it can enhance your critical thinking because every questions have a
limited time for you to answer.
Antipolo immaculate conception school (AICS) is one of the school who will be using
an automated entrance exam soon.

Chapter VI.
Conclusions

We can say that the system we have made has tremendous help to our group and the
Antipolo Immaculate Conception School because through it we have helped and learned
from the work of system. This system has a big contribution to AICS because it will
be their first computerized Entrance Exam. And also important by experiencing other
students who has not yet encountered this kind of exam. We created this system to
accelerate the process of school and for them to be able to conserve materials they
use and at the same time be convenient and less time consuming tests of students.
We say we have learned since we've done it well and apply to unsolicited
suggestions of school leadership and its a massive thing for us besides that we
learned, we helped more also.
