Assignment #2

Using Mullins Library to Find Articles

PART A

Name of Article: Cloud Computing Adoption in Organisations: Review of Empirical Literature

Author: Haslinda Hassan

Journal Name: Accounting Information Systems

Date of Article: 2017

Summary:

Cloud technologies are becoming more and more available and powerful every day. Several
organizations have yet to fully adopt cloud technologies for various reasons. The term cloud means
that users can access information from anywhere in the world, instantly. There is no longer a need to be
connected to a single server in order to access information. This could be very influential in the
accounting world; one reason is because the information can easily be accessed and tweaked instantly.
The thing that is holding several accounting firms back right now is the security is not yet the greatest.
Advancements will come in the future for all cloud based softwares.
PART B

Title of Article: Trait Differences in Gender in Technology Use and Study Habits of Rural Community
College Students

Author: Phillip Marc Wilson

Year: December 2012

Summary:

The study was performed at a rural community college and the first goal was to find how students used
technology within their study habits. Out of the 203 sampled students, 152 results were defined as
usable which gave them a 75% success on their return rate for the study. Going into the study, the
researcher originally thought females would turn out to be better students. The study proved this
statement and was due to various reasons: more organized and a more efficient class schedule. This
may be due to women have a higher national attendance at community colleges and at this one
specifically, women accounted for 70% of enrollment. Technology did not play as large of an impact as
the researcher hoped for. He concluded study skills are not only a collegiate skill, but a life skill.
PART C

Name of Article: Power Development for Golf

Author: Scott Morrison

Journal/Newspaper, etc. Journal Article

Year (must be last five years): 08/01/2014

Summary: Golf is a very popular and growing sport, but there is not a large focus on strength
conditioning for the game of golf. Other sports have long and vigorous workout plans for that specific
sport, but there isnt the same for golf. The nature of the sport begs for strength to be implemented
through club head speed. Strength training for golf shouldnt necessarily be most weight but instead
high repetition. In conjunction with strength training, plyometric should also be focused on. With an
increase in strength and an improved flexibility among golfers it will eventually lead to better golf shots
which will turn into lower overall scores.
