SYNOPSIS This course introduces students to the basic concepts of statistics and
statistical methods.The main focus of this course is on how to
assemble, keep, analyse and interpret economics and business
information and data for decisions making process. Among the topics
covered are descriptive and inferential statistics, describing data,
discrete and continuous probability distributions, sampling methods,
estimation, hypothesis testing, Chi-Square test, analysis of variance,
simple linear regression, multiple regression and correlation.

(Kursus in memperkenalkan para pelajar kepada konsep-konsep asas

statistik dan kaedah-kaedahnya. Tumpuan utama ialah bagaimana
untuk mengumpul, menyimpan, menganalisis dan menafsir
maklumat-maklumat dan data-data perniagaan dan ekonomi bagi
membuat sesuatu keputusan. Tajuk-tajuk yang dibincangkan adalah
statistik diskriptif dan inferen, penyusunan dan pameran data,
kebarangkalian diksrit dan selanjar, inferen pensampelan, taburan
pensampelan, penganggaran, pengujian hipotesis, ujian kuasa dua
Chi, analisis varians, regresi linear mudah, korelasi dan regresi
berbilang.)

LEARNING By the end of this course, students will be able to:

OUTCOMES o describe data using suitable techniques studied in this course;
o apply suitable statistical methods in data analysis;
o interpret and make statistical inference based on statistical
results.
