CPUT EduroamWireless access setup guide (Win

7/Vista)

1. Open Control Panel > Network and Internet > Manage Wireless Networks and
click on Add

2. Select > Manually create a network profile

3. Enter SSID eduroam (case-sensitive) and select Security and Encryption
settings as below and click Next
4. Select Change connection settings
5. Select the Security tab
6. Click on the Settings button next to (PEAP)
7. Uncheck the Validate server certificate checkbox and click on Configure next to
(EAP-MSCHAP v2)

8. Uncheck the Automatically use my Windows logon checkbox and click OK.

9. Click OK again on the Protected EAP properties window to return to the Security
tab.
10. Click on Advanced settings

11. Check the box for Specify authentication mode and select User
authentication from the drop down menu.
12. Click OK and OK again on Security Tab. Click Close.
13. When connecting to Wireless network it will request username and
password
Username = username@ads.cput.ac.za
Password = {password for Novell/AD}
