Dear Colleagues,

The purpose of this letter is to express my intention of applying for Tenure in the
Department of Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences. I believe I have
demonstrated sufficient evidence of my teaching, scholarly and service capabilities
as well as the professional integrity required of a tenured professor; this request is
supported by my having been promoted to the rank of Full Professor in May, 2017.
I have also applied myself diligently to enhance my ASL skills, as noted in my
packet.

My portfolio is divided into six main categories: 1) Introduction; (2) Abridged

Files of various requested forms; (3) Teaching; (4) Scholarly work; (5) Service;
and (6) ASL. This portfolio is a culmination of my work and reflects my
knowledge and contributions in my field as well as my service contributions to
Gallaudet University and the community at large since my appointment on
August 16, 2012. I believe that what I have submitted reflects highly of my value
to Gallaudet University.

During my time at Gallaudet University I have strived to make a difference, be it to

my students, fellow faculty and staff members, as well as to university. I hope that
the Tenure and Promotion committee will view my submission for tenure in a
positive manner. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss any of the enclosed
