I am writing this to express my highest recommendation for Grace Koehler. It has been a
privilege to serve as Ms. Koehlers mentor teacher for her student teaching this fall semester in
my fourth grade class at Trailwood Elementary School in Overland Park, Kansas. Ms. Koehler
has all of the attributes that make an effective teacher. She fosters positive, collaborative
relationships with parent, students, and staff. She implements highly effective, student-centered
instruction to meet the needs of all students. I believe that her personality, skills, and education
will be a good fit for your learning community.

Ms. Koehler is an extremely effective educator who knows that high expectations and student
achievement are crucial. She consistently implements lessons that are tailored to both be
engaging and student-centered. She realizes that when students are actively engaged, students
have a deeper understanding of the content. Ms. Koehler uses various assessment data to guide
her instruction and plan for interventions. She regularly meets with guided reading groups and
math groups to individualize instruction for each student.

Ms. Koehler utilizes meaningful technology in order to enhance student learning. She constantly
strives to use technology in a way that redesigns what students are able to do in the classroom.
For example, she has helped to foster collaborative relationships through between our students
and students all over the world. Through her efforts, students were able to work on several
projects together utilizing technology.

In addition, Ms. Koehler has built positive relationships with staff, students, and parents at
Trailwood Elementary. She has a positive, kind demeanor and implements the Positive Behavior
Intervention Support system in her classroom. She has clear expectations, routines, and
procedures for students. She has a well-managed classroom which leads to a positive learning
environment. She knows that learning is built on a positive relationship with parents and with
students and works diligently as a team to meet the needs of every child in her classroom.

In closing, I feel that Ms. Koehler would be a great addition to the staff of any school. She is
eager to learn and to collaborate. She teaches thorough lessons to ensure all students understand
the content. Her professionalism and dedication to the students will have a positive impact on
any school.
