The parrots are a broad order of more than 350 birds. Macaws, Amazons, lorikeets,
lovebirds, cockatoos and many others are all considered parrots.

Parrots are found in warm climates all over the world. The greatest diversities exist in
Australasia, Central America, and South America.

Though there is great diversity among these birds, there are similarities as well. All parrots
have curved beaks and all are zygodactyls, meaning they have four toes on each foot, two
pointing forward and two projecting backward. Most parrots eat fruit, flowers, buds, nuts,
seeds, and some small creatures such as insects.

Many parrots are kept as pets, especially macaws, Amazon parrots, cockatiels, parakeets,
and cockatoos. These birds have been popular companions throughout history because they
are intelligent, charismatic, colorful, and musical. Some birds can imitate many nonavian
sounds, including human speech. The male African gray parrot (Psittacuserithacus) is the

Near my house exists a beautiful and unique beach called La Caleta. It's a balcony to the
Bay of Cadiz. Daily, large boats visit its waters and say hello to the green trees that surround it.
When the wind blows strongly, you can see the fish trying to reach its bank; nevertheless, they
can't do it, because the waters reclaim them like a treasure. I feel good there because I can
relax. It's my favorite place.

I like to lay on a big stone, to see the sunset and hear the quiet waves' sound near me.
Then I imagine all the marine creatures singing from the deep sea. When the darkness cover
the sky, I walk on the bank and look at the moon reflected on the water. On one occasion I
tried to touch it, but I just got my hand full of salt water. I saw the clouds reflected in my
hand, and when I breathed, I felt the pure air in my lungs. A sweet flavor filled my whole body.

The sky over this beach is also different from others. A white and bright light crosses it like
a ray. The fishermen love this light, but the fish can't rest quietly, because it disturbs their
dreams. What's this light in the middle of the night? It's the lighthouse light. Wherever you
stand, you may see it. It's the beach's guardian.

Therefore, when I'm far from this place, I'm sad, because I miss it. I miss its clear waters,
I miss its white sand, I miss its blue sky, and I miss its wonderful lighthouse. Someday I'll be
there again.

The Miserly Beggar

Long ago there was a kingwho was passing by a beggars hut. The beggar was filled with

Read the following text to answer questions number 10 to 13.

Dear Hanna,

How are you? I really miss you. I havent written a letter to you for a long time, because I am
very busy. I am so sorry for that.

I have been studying in the English Language Center at BYU in Provo, Utah. I have been here
since January 2016. This is a famous university. It is very beautiful. This university has a lot of
good lecturers and good disciplines. I have learned a lot from the university; every day I have a
lot of homework I need to do, and every week I have many tests. Sometimes I feel very tired,
and I want to have a rest for a few days but I cant do that.

Do you know why I dont study in New York? You know, in New York, there are many Chinese; I
can use Chinese as I have learned it since I was born. It is like living in China. I wont study
English well in New York. Provo is a school city. There are many universities here. People here
are very kind and polite. I have made many American friends here. Provo also has a beautiful
view in winter; there are a lot of white, snow-covered mountains. It is so beautiful. I love it very
much. Sometimes I go skiing with my friends.

Although everything is good here, I still have some problems. My husband and my son are in New

My grandmother is quite an old lady. She has already crossed sixty. Her years have now
bent her back a little but have not affected her activities. She is tall and thin. She is grey haired
and her humble and affectionate face is full of wrinkles. Her eye-sight, however, is quite good
and she can read without spectacles.

She is a religious lady. She is the first to leave her bed in the morning. Before we get up,
she has already taken her bath with fresh water. Immediately after taking a bath, she goes to
the nearby temple. We eagerly wait for her to come back, for she usually brings sweets for us.
Even at this age, she is very active and hard-working. She is very affectionate and caring. We,
her grandchildren, are attached to her more than to our parents

She is the most respected lady in our colony. Ladies, young and old, come to her for
advice. Sometimes they bring their problems. Sometimes she tells them her own experiences.
They listen to her respectfully.

When we were little kids, she used to be such a source of joy. We used to wait eagerly for
night because at night all of us snuggled near her and then she would tell stories like
Mahabharat, Ramayan, Panchtantra, etc.

Near my house exists a beautiful and unique beach called La Caleta. It's a balcony to the
Bay of Cadiz. Daily, large boats visit its waters and say hello to the green trees that surround
it. When the wind blows strongly, you can see the fish trying to reach its bank; nevertheless,
they can't do it, because the waters reclaim them like a treasure. I feel good there because I
can relax.

A sweet flavor filled my whole
body.

Adapted from essay written by Robello

The Miserly Beggar
Long ago there was a king who was passing by a beggars hut. The beggar was filled
with excitement, not because he was about to see the king but because he thought that the
king had expensive jewels and huge sums of money.
He saw the kings carriage when a kindly man was filling his begging bowl with rice.
Pushing the man aside, he ran into the street, shouting praises of the king and the royal
family. The carriage stopped and the king waved to the beggar.
Who are you? he asked.
One of the most unfortunate of your people, said the beggar. Poverty sits on my
doorstep and follows me like a dog. I havent eaten since yesterday afternoon!
Have you got nothing for your king, except suffering? said the king, putting out his
hand. Give me something.
The miserly beggar, amazed, carefully picked up 5 grains of rice from his bowl and put
them on the kings palm. The king drove away. The beggar was disappointed. He cursed the
king again and again for his miserliness.
When he returned home in the evening, he found a bag of rice on the floor.

bag had been sent by the king. He emptied the rice on the floor, feeling sure there would be
more gold pieces in it, and he was right. He found 5, one for each grain of rice he had given
the king.
It is not the king who has been miserly, thought the man, sadly. If I had been

Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Japan is the worlds first international airport built on a
man-made island, 5km off the Senshu coast at Osaka Bay.
Its terminal, a beautiful, modern four story structure, is the longest in the world
(1,7km) and was designed by the prominent Italian architect Renzo Piano.
Indeed, even first-time passengers feel the comfort and the convenience of KIX in
terms of the procedures and flow that need to be followed, from the time one disembarks
up to picking luggage. International arrivals sort out immigration matters and baggage on
the first floor, while international departures take place on the third floor after one is
ticketed on the fourth floor. A 24-Hour Airport Lounge, Business Center, VIP and
Conference Rooms and, of course, Duty Free shops offering branded goods at attractive
prices are readily available. If you happen to be traveling with your pet, you can always
have it kept at the Pet Hotel, the first ever in Japan.

locked up my bags and looked for the subway. My teacher told me that Seoul's
subway system was chaotic. I waited for 40 -mutes for it to come. Then, once I
got on and sat down, it waited for another 30 minutes. I rode for another 40

Heyri is a small art village on the outskirts of Seoul. It's filled with art

Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of
the genusChrysanthemum in the familyAsteraceae. They are native to Asia and
northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in
China. There are countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.

Wild Chrysanthemum taxa areherbaceousperennial plants or subshrubs. They have

alternately arranged leaves divided into leaflets with toothed or occasionally smooth
edges. The compound inflorescence is an array of several flower heads, or sometimes a
solitary head. The head has a base covered in layers of phyllaries. The simple row of ray
florets are white, yellow or red; many horticultural specimens have been bred to bear
many rows of ray florets in a great variety of colors. The disc florets of wild taxa are
yellow. The fruit is a ribbed achene.

Modern cultivated chrysanthemums are showier than their wild relatives. The
flower heads occur in various forms, and can be daisy-like or decorative, like pompons or

horticultural purposes. In addition to the traditional yellow, other colors are available, such

Bees fly from flower to flower, sipping nectar and collecting grains of pollen. Bees
have a special tongue that sucks up the nectar and a crop in their throat for storing it until
they get back to the hive, where it is turned into honey to use as food.
Many plants depend on bees to spread pollen, helping them to reproduce. Flowers
that attract bees are usually yellow, blue, or purple. Many bees specialize in one plant
species. In areas where different flowering plants bloom at the same time, this keeps
different bee species from fighting over the same flower!

A rich man in a certain town once owned a dog and a cat. The dog had served his master for many years
and had become so old that he was unable to fight anymore, but he was a good guide and companion to
the cat who was strong and cunning.

The master had a daughter who was attending school at a convent some distance from home, and he

One day he asked the faithful animalsto carry a magic ring to his daughter.

The Sumatran rhinoceros (Dicerorhinussumatrensis) is the smallest rhino species. It is also

the most distinctive rhinoceros. It has been hunted a lot that it almost extinct. There are less than
300 Sumatran rhinoceroses surviving in Malaysia and Indonesia. Between 1985 and 1995, the
number of Sumatran rhinos declined by 50 percent because of poaching and habitat destruction.

The Sumatran rhinoceros has unique gray or reddish-brown coat. It is believed to be the
only survivor of the lineage that included the woolly rhinoceros. Sumatran rhinos stand up to 1.4 m
at the shoulder and weigh up to 1,000 kg. They have folded skin, like the other Asian rhinos,
except that it is covered with coarse, bristly hair. The Sumatran is the only rhino in Asia with two
horns. The front horn is usually the longest, reaching a length of 90 cm. The rear one is sometimes
so small that the animal looks as if it is single-horned.

They live mainly in forest-covered hills near water and are known to be good at climbing
slopes and swimming. They move mainly at night, and spend most of the day wallowing in mud-
holes and pools.

Sumatran rhinoceroses usually feed on leaves, twigs, and fruit.

Female rhinos reach sexual maturity at about the age of five or six. The males mature
between the ages of seven and eight. However, they do not father calves until they have claimed a
territory, which may take them three or four years. Rhinos always have a single calf, born after a
gestation period of 15 to 18 months. The calf may feed on its mothers milk for up to two years. It
usually remains with its mother until she is about to give birth once more. The calf is only raised by
