RULES & REGULATIONS
IN THE CONDUCT OF THE
BU_KLAT
(Baliuag University Knowledge and Learning Assessment Test)

IRR 1.0 Background
IRR 1.1 The BU_KLAT is a learning and assessment examination to all

BSA students that aims to refresh their minds and evaluate
their capabilities. This academic project aims to improve the
academic competencies of each BUJPIANS and to prepare
them for the CPA Board Examination. This helps them to
visualize what an actual board exam looks like. It is a whole
day event to BUJPIANS in all levels that will test their
knowledge in answering different questions based on their
accomplished syllabi. And for fifth year students, they will
answer CPA board exam subjects which they should already
have mastered. This is to accomplish one of the primary goals
of the federation which is to promote and improve academic
excellence.
IRR 2.0 Objectives
IRR 2.1 To promote academic excellence to each BUJPIANS.
IRR 2.2 To prepare the students in the actual CPA Board Exam and to
increase the proficiency of BUJPIANS as they participate in
different accounting-related academic competitions which
include regional and national mock board examinations and
accounting quiz bees.

IRR 2.3 To promote excellence and to able to produce topnotch
students that will represent our beloved organization in the
actual CPA board exams
IRR 3.0 QUALIFICATIONS
IRR 3.1 BU_KLAT is a Mandatory examination for BUJPIANS at all

year levels.
IRR 3.2 Eligible students are good to take the examination provided
that they adhere to the registration guidelines set in this
Implementing Rules and Regulations.
IRR 4.0 COVERAGE OF EXAMINATIONS
IRR 4.1 Diagnostic examinations for third year BSA students shall
cover 2 subjects namely Financial Accounting 1&2 and Cost
Accounting.
IRR 4.2 Mock board examinations for fourth year BSA students shall
cover 3 CPA board subject namely Financial accounting and
reporting, Advance Accounting and financial reporting,
Regulatory framework for business transactions
IRR 4.3 Mock board examinations for fifth year BSA students shall
cover 6 CPA board subject namely Financial accounting and
reporting, Advance Accounting and financial reporting,
Regulatory framework for business transactions, Taxation,
Management Advisory Services and Auditing.

IRR 5.0 REGISTRATIONS AND GUIDELINES
IRR 5.1 Eligible students are automatically registered upon payment to

their Unit Treasurer the examination fee in the amount of:
Fifty pesos (Php50.00*) for Fifth Year BUJPIAns

Twenty-five pesos (Php25.00*) for Third year to
Fourth Year BUJPIAns.
IRR 5.2 A registration sheet provided by the BUJPIA Secretary General

shall be accomplished by the Unit Secretary which lists down,
in good form, required information about the examinee. This
registration sheet will be collected by the Secretary General
two (2) days before the examination day.
IRR 5.3 The examination fees will be collected by the BUJPIA Vice
President for Finance two (2) days before the examination day.
IRR 5.4 Each examinee must also send a soft copy of their latest resume
to their Unit Head. The Unit Head shall forward through email
collected resumes, in a compressed .zip file or .rar file, at
nfjpiar3.bu1718@gmail.com (the official Gmail address of
BUJPIA).
IRR 5.5 Room assignments and seat number assigned to examinees

shall be posted on the examination day, and shall be strictly
followed by the examinees.

IRR 7.0 GENERAL EXAMINATION GUIDELINES
IRR 7.1 Examinees are expected to be at the venue at least thirty (30)
minutes before the official starting time. This is for the
confirmation of their registration and inspection of calculators
and other examination materials.
IRR 7.2 Late-comers or examinees who failed to be at the venue once

the exam starts shall still take the mock board examination but
no extension of time allowance shall be granted to him/her.
IRR 7.3 Examinees should observe proper behavior during examination

proper. Talking and/or asking questions to seatmates are
strictly prohibited. Any questions or clarifications must be
addressed directly to the proctor.
IRR 7.4 Any examinee caught cheating will be disqualified in taking

the entire mock board examination.
IRR 7.5 Examinees are strictly not allowed to leave the room once the
examination has been started. An examinee who is to go to
comfort room shall be assisted by an Executive Officer.

IRR 7.6 Examinees are allowed to eat inside their respective rooms
provided that it shall cause no distraction to other students
taking the exam.
IRR 7.7 Only calculators allowed by Philippine Regulatory

Commission (non-programmable calculators) are allowed to be
used. Proctors are expected to inspect the examinees
calculators before the examination starts. See Professional
Regulation Commission Memorandum Circular No. 2004-06
for the list of allowable calculators.

IRR 7.8 Examinees bearing prohibited calculators shall not be allowed

to take the subjects requiring the use of calculators.
IRR 7.9 Use of cellphones, iPod and other gadgets is strictly prohibited.
IRR 7.10 The examination fee is not refundable in any cases.
IRR 7.11 BUJPIA Council would ensure that examination results will be
limited to those with rightful authority, and that
confidentiality is paramount at all times.
IRR 7.12 For recognition and awarding purposes, all examinees, whether
from fourth year level or from fifth year level, shall take the
same set of exams for the four subjects to be taken on the
BU_KLAT.
Results from such identical set of exams shall solely be used in
the determination of Masters for those four subjects

(meaning, Part Two of exams to be taken by fourth year
students in the afternoon session shall not be considered for
purposes of determining Masters). Only one (1) Master shall
therefore be declared per subject, and the same may either
come from the fourth year level or from the fifth year level. In
case of tie, the Vice President for Academics shall provide
clincher questions to determine the Master for that subject.
IRR 8.0 EXAMINATION SUMMARY
IRR 8.1 Below is the summary of the number of items and

IRR 8.2 The number of items per subject includes multiple choice
questions .
IRR 9.0 SYSTEM OF EVALUATION, AWARDS AND

RECOGNITION
IRR 9.1 The following awards shall be given to top performer during
the mock board examination:

Top 1-20 Fourth Year Examinees
Top 1-20 Fifth Year Examinees
Top Performing Unit on Third Year Level
Top Performing Unit on Fourth Year Level
Top Performing Unit on Fifth Year Level

IRR 9.2 The Top 20 students from each year level will automatically be

promoted to the Elite rank with two stars for the Brain
Booster. They will also automatically become a member of the
League of Quizzers. (Brain Booster and League of Quizzers are
two separate event from BU_KLAT)
IRR 10.0 IRR VIOLATIONS AND SANCTIONS
IRR 10.1 The above-mentioned Implementing Rules and Regulations are

for BUJPIA and related persons information exchange only.
The Council maintains the relevance and reliability of this
document through the strict implementation of its rules and
regulations.
IRR 10.2 Any questions raised by the contestants that are not included
in the IRR shall be subjected to the jurisdiction of the BUJPIA
Vice President for Academics and BUJPIA Executive Officers.
The decision of the Vice President for Academics and the
Executive Officers will be final and irrevocable.
IRR 11.0 ENFORCEMENT OF THE IRR
IRR 11.1 It shall be the primary duty of the BUJPIA Vice President for
Academics and the BUJPIA Executive Officers to effectively
enforce the provisions of this Implementing Rules and
Regulations. The Executive Officers also has the sole right to
interpret the contents of this Implementing Rules &
Regulations and their decision will be binding and irrevocable.
IRR 11.2 The BUJPIA Adviser shall act as consultant to the Vice

President for Academics and the Executive Officers and shall
render assistance as may be necessary in carrying out the
provisions of this Implementing Rules and Regulations.
