CONCEPT STATEMENT
Germans ethnically share a variety of architectural and artistic history. Not only was
this ethnic group a part of many of the design periods thoughout recorded history, they
have left their mark and spread their influence throughout the world. Gothic,
Romanesque, and Renaissance were expressed within Germany, but shared closely with
other groups. When we look at modern contributions from Germans we can look to the
most recent and strikingly unique contributions of the Bauhaus Period.
With dominance set by large geometric forms, the abstraction should only be very
slight. The features should present as a functional open space, highly organized as
German patrons would expect. The space should exhibit modern ideas with utilitarian
function. Furniture may be rearranged for intimate settings, or in the case of large
holiday parties, be assembled for large festivals and a tight social gathering.
Ambient lighting should give depth to the forms, but enough task lighting should be
present for diners and workers. Colors should be complementary with sticking close to
the primary colors. The open space should allow for sights, sounds and smells to
propagate from the kitchen to the diners, and be inviting for those meeting the hostess.

REFLECTED CEILING PLAN Date:
The dining area is reconfigurable for events, and the private dining reconfigures to provide
entertainment or presentations for private events.
The geometric ceiling composed of tall vertical slats helps reduce the echo throughout the room
without complete acoustical partitions
Lighting looks engineered and cabled throughout with geometric forms to represent Bauhaus ideals.
The furniture meets the production and material values presented by the Bauhaus period, with
taking sustainability cues from modern engineering and cultural and ethical advances.
